So I was browsing the net and I came across a few celebritie's wieght and heights. It is no wonder we are so insecure about our weight.....

Sarah Jessica Parker 5?4? 100 lbs

 Jennifer Aniston 5?5? 112lbs

 Claudia Schiffer 5?11? 128 lbs

Christy Turlington 5?10?

 119lbs Kate Moss 5?6? 105lbs

This is insane.....

I think it's GROSS AND INSANE when people DIET so that their bodies are TOO SMALL for their frame, so don't get your panties all in a bunch. Really I could care less if any of you want to be walking sticks. I don't have a problem with someone who is naturally tall and lean AT ALL. You can TELL when they are. People that diet themselves down that low don't LOOK healthy.

SOME of you like to disagree JUST for argument's sake -- you know who you are and everybody else knows who you are. How is YOUR saying it's "horrible" much different from ME saying "insane" or "gross." I think YOU have GROSSLY misunderstood what I (or others) have said!

And I wasn't talking to you Antoinette so don't flatter yourself.
I think Marilyn fluctuated a lot, just like everyone does. I can see her ribs here:

And in other pictures she looks nice and fleshy.
edit - never mind.
dont have to. my accomplishments speak for themselves.

but thanks again for brightening my day.

hope you feel better soon.

(I'd imagine if anyone lay down in that position you'd be able to see their ribs?)

One of the trash mags last week (in Australia) had a little expose on star's real weights. It was weird reading - I'm 5'2" and everyone my weight was like 5'10"!

Wow. I'm like Marilyn sized. Except in the waist. I suddenly feel hot :p
Marilyn is NOT a US size 2 on any standards. She was curvy, and those curves weren't muscle, they were fat. She weighed 140 pounds, and unless your extremely tall, there is no way a 140 pound woman could fit into a US size 2, muscle or fat.
huh, I never thought she looked that big and "fleshy".... But no one said she was a size 2 here....

See I tend to gauge on the movies, and pictures with other people in them. Rather than the pics where she is alone.
I own a vintage clothing shop. I wear a size 8 in today's sizes. I weigh 127 pounds and I am 5.3". If I wear anything from the 1950's I would have to have a size 16. I am not fat, but maybe slightly overweight. I have a small frame. I am probably built like Marilyn Monroe but these days that look is concidered overweight.
It all started with Twiggy.....she set the 'ultra thin' craze off.  I wish there was a way to get hollywood to start using more realistic people instead of this unhealthy thin culture which has become even more so in the last 5 years.  Even tho we know it's unhealthy there is still this desire on some level to look as they do probably due to the constant media bombardment of skinny celebs and being constantly told this is what is attractive.  You see stars when they first start in the business and they look good but then they start to shrink......skinny little stick arms, all the bones showing in their chest.  The magazines are just as bad constantly going on about how much so and so weighs and whose on what diet and how to look like some celeb and then they wonder why eating disorders are up when these people are walking ED advertisements.   Lots of trends have come and gone and come round again, it's well overdue for the trend of curvy to come back in my opinion
wow.   amen.
I hate that new Old Navy commercial for sweaters; all the girls have the bodies of 9 year old boys!! I thought the saying was 'sex sells' not 'skinny sells'.
i just wanted to know what all the twiggyfuss was about anyway. if u google her, most of the pictures are AWFUL. why would ANYONE want to look like a preteen MALE????
I think SJP is naturally like that though....she has always been very slight and very muscular.
That is a big lie..... Im 5'6'' I used to weight 118 a few years ago, but with some proportion in my hips and but, I was looking at myself right next to another girl, and I was very thin, you could see my bones, anyway, i read that Beyonce weight 125 pounds my height, reallyyyy, I dont think so, Iam right now 130 and she looks heavy than me and every inche of her body, please dont believe in those articles, they just calculate, even the start never tell how much really they weight, and they are insecure like everybody else.... common
Yeah celeb weight/height reports aren't always accurate... they usually  lie about their weight by 5-10lbs and add a couple inches onto their height.

First of all, don't hate on the princess of mod. she was amazing, and beautiful.

and I just had to point out the irony.. Twiggy was always known for her horrible, HORRIBLE eating habits--I've read she was always stuffing her face with [high-cal!] junk and always had to have some kind of sweets on set. She even had a dessert named after her: the "Bananas Twiggy" at some fancy schmancy restaurant.

you have to rember that part of there jobs is to sell there bodys. and altho it may not be the main point they will be at a disadvantige in most cases by going over hollywoods standerds of cilebrity bodys. if people ignored the tabloids and other midia forms about there weight and what not then the issue would slowly drop and it wouldent be such a big factor as it is now. and another point, how you were brought up by your parents and the influence of your peers have much more to do with how you see your self than strangers in a magazine. plenty of people do something because a friend dose or presher from a famly member and eventualy use a cilebrity as there goal but that standerd had been planted in long befor the cilebrity. and for a lot of other people it has nothing to do with cilebrities. and some people realy do need to lose the weight not only for health but for personal reasons as well and they dont go to the extreme of what is healty for them. in other words there are so meny other more important factors at play than seeing a person you dont know look skinny or good, it has much more to do with what your values and perceptions are like as well as peer influences and physical and mental health
The funniest part about those celeb stats is the heighth! I swear they all added an inch or two, and yes, the pounds are funny too! Our societal stardards are ridiculous. I'm personally scared by Kelly Ripa and the recent photos of Angelina Jolie. Somewhere along the line skeletal equaled elegant.

i do not know if those stats are real, but i can tell you something - the celebs, actresses, presenters etc look SO SMALL and thin when you meet them in person. on screen and pictures they may look like thin - normally thin - people, but in reality they are sort of scary (can tell from experience).

not that i would not want the thinness of sjp:)

Having met in person a TV presenter that is noted for being 'slender' I can honestly say I was shocked at how positively skeletal she really was.  'The camera adds 20lbs' so these freakishly skinny women are deliberately selected so that on camera they come across as some way normal size.   Models are chosen because they are abnormally tall and abnormally thin.   In other fields of life other extreme shapes are preferred.... shot-putters are squat and muscular, jockeys are short, cyclists have whopping great thighs, basketball players are 7' tall.

I don't feel any more insecure that I don't resemble a model then any of these other extreme, abnormal body-types.
