I found a bread at Meijers that is called Vegtable Wheat.  It is low carb, high fiber and only 35 calories a slice.  It tastes comparable to wheat bread.  I toast it and put Apple Butter on it (15 cals a tblsp)  and for 100 calories I have a good snack.  Depending on the brand, most Apple Butter only has 4 carbs too.  My step-son is 7 and he does not love it, but I make grilled cheese with it and he likes it.

I like Trader Joe's Essential Flax Seed Bread from Trader Joes. I usually have two slices for breakfast with Cinamon&Brown sugar Oatmeal. I usually mix one packet of Quarker Cinammon&Brown Sugar oatmeal with 40 grams (before cooking) of regular oatmeal, so it's not as sweet, and put it on the bread.
Although it's not all that good for toasting. I think once I get access to the toaster again I'll switch to Alpine Valley Organic Multi Grain bread with Omega-3. Only 20 more calories per slice, but comes out of a toaster much much better.

I use Nature's Own White Wheat bread. It tastes, looks, and feels just like regular white bread. But it is only 50 calories a slice.

That's what I use too!  I loves me some Nature's Own White/Wheat!  Yummy!

I buy whole grain bread from Panera, the Whole Foods bakery, or the Publix bakery. Bakery bread is always the best - the texture is grainy, heavy, and the crust is anlways crunchy. It may be higher in cals, but I'll take it over the pre-bagged, pre-sliced, sponge-like bread you see piled up on the store shelves any day.
