WOOHOO!!! The biggest loser season starts tonight!!!
Oh awesome! It's NBC right? I love the Biggest Loser, I;m just terrible at remembering when shows are on.
Yes, NBC. I'm so excited - I've only been watching since last season, but it was enough to get me and my DH hooked!! ...and inspired!
I always wanted to go on it, but I think you have to be American. And although I have about the same weight as a lot of the people on there, I don't look as big, and they never seem to have people like that on there.
I think I could of totally been a "Big Loser" <--- what a feeling!!!
It starts at 8 PM eastern standard time... I cannot wait!!!
I love that show!!!
I wonder if they'll ever do follow up stories on the people on there.
I just said the same thing in my journal post! They probably won't because alot of people gain the weight back because they can't keep up the exercise routine.
I am so excited about the show tonight! I've watched every show since Season 1. I like to see how they change.......physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. It would be so disheartening to lose all of that and gain it back.
But maybe being that much lighter at one time in your life would give you incentive to lose it all in a way you can maintain
i think the weight loss on the show is unrealistic timewise, because who can really work out for 4+ hours a day unless that is their profession? nobody! as long as real folks don't get discouraged thinking they should drop 10 lbs a week, i think the show is great.
I agree with Jules though on the timeline thing, but most logical folks are gonna know they can't have the same results simply because of the time factor. Heck, if I could work out even 2 hours a day, this weight would come off a lot faster, but I'm lucky to get in enough time to do what I need to drop 1-2 lbs a week!
Its like the best show ever. My mom and I are so hooked.
They do sometimes have contestants from previous seasons on the show. I know Bill from a few years ago is from Long Island and I saw him in a local paper a few weeks ago and he still looks good! They don't all gain it back!
I wish Bob was my trainer...
I do too, I really like Bob. I don't like the woman (I can't remember her name..it starts with a J doesn't it? Jillian?) she just seems like she picks favorites or won't help out certain people, and I don't like her attitude.
The lady in purple - Shellay lives down the street (like 8 houses) from my parents in Royal Oak, Michigan. Her daughter lives in Auburn Hills.
You should have seen the media circus when Shellay came home a couple of months ago. Sorry, I don't have the "skinny" on what happened.
I know who I'll be rooting for.
I love the "Biggest Loser". It is my favorite show. I have watched since season 1 and I am hooked. I feel so motivated to lose weight after watching the show. I need to lose about 8 pounds so I am not as overweight as the contestants on the show, but i tell myself that if they can do it, I can do it. I agree that you can't workout 4 hours a day unless it is your profession, but sure does make you want to work out to see results like they do!!!!
I have had my DVR set since last week to record just incase I miss it!!!! With an almost one year old, it's hard to tell what I will be doing at 8pm.
can't wait to see what the season brings!!!! Read the bios on the website for NBC, but I am not sure who I am rooting for yet. Maybe the father son cab drivers??????
Yea its Jillian. She tries to be so tough.
I sometimes use The Biggest Loser workout DVDs (did I mention I'm obsessed), Jillians cardio session is REALLY hard. I curse at her every time. That warmed me up to her a little...
Hi, I am new to Forums. I just wanted to say I am an avid watcher of The Biggest Loser as well. I was so happy when Allie won last year. Finally a woman did it! It's great to see the motivation on the show but I know I would not last, I am too emotional. My disabilities would not allow it either. I wanted to let trashleyf know that they have another Biggest Loser in Australia. I am sure they are popping up all over the place in different countries. Bob is a trainer in Australia as we saw last season.
Jillian is hard on her team, but I think it is because she wants the individuals to really stick with the program. If I recall Jillian was once a contestant, not absolutely sure. I do believe she was heavy when she was younger so she knows where "we've" been.
I wonder if they will bring Kim back this year? This is only my third year of watching. I have a DVR so I copy it and watch it both.
Happy watching!
I've watched the 1st 48 minutes or so of the 1st show of this season on the NBC website. I don't know if I have any favorites yet. I'll have to watch it again because I was really tired when I saw it. I really like this show except for all the commercials and product placements. I want to continue to lose weight and see how far I come when they have their season finale.
I'm gunna watch it, and DVR it so when I am unmotivated I can do it.
But I must say i LOVE product placement and all the commercials. They point out alternatives and healthy things. Okay the orvil popcorn from last season + all the subway did get a bit old after a while, but you'll get that with any reality show.
I hope they bring Ali back to introduce people! She did awesome. I want to know how her mom is doing. They need a reunion show!
My husband and I love this show! We have watched it from the beginning. Of course, we used to watch it while we ate desserts (cake, cookies, ice cream etc), or big plates of spaghetti. Now that we are enjoying a more healthy lifestyle, I guess we'll have to switch to pudding snacks!
