So I got my blood taken to check my thyroid, cholesterol, glucose etc.. and my sugar is completely normal now! Last time I got my blood taken I was told that I was going to become diabetic if I didn't change my eating habits and exercise.. so I did! Now I work out 6 days a week for 40 mins and it's great. My cholesterol is still pretty high, but that takes longer to come down from exercise and diet. So hopefully the next time I get my blood taken (November) it will be down. :) I'm also taking vitamins like fish oil and red yeast to help it.
So anyway, if you ever think that exercise isn't worth it, you're so wrong! :) Get your butts in motion! <3

that is awesome! my hubby is diabetic (due to both bad genes & bad habits) and I am praying that he gets to a point where he is just tired enough of the medication to really get his behind going!
I am very happy for you! Keep doing what you are doing!

Yep, it was happening to me. I've always been overweight so that's why it was bad already. But I'm so glad I'm fixing it! :)
Thanks everyone!

Congratulations, you really have something to be proud of and are a wonderful role model for all young people.
Awesome!
Try cinnamon to help with the cholestorol...Add it to your coffee, add it to your cereal. Sprinkle it on anything it might be good on, a bit is often good in a stew...bonus, it's got a good flavor and will help you use less sweetener.

I'm doomed to get diabetes too even though I'm only 14 because it's in my genes. My nan(mum's mum) had it, my aunty(mum's sis) has it and even my mum who's a nurse and VERY health-conscious...basically a healthy-freak, has diabetes though hers is mild and low risk but still. So according to my GP I'm probably gonna have it as well in like my 50s but if i control my sugar intake to a reasonable level it probably wont affect that much.

My mom is a CC member and has lost 25 lbs. She went to the doctors and her numbers are down and she can stop taking the meds. Dr. asked her how she did it and she told him all about this site. He is going to start refering his patients to CC! Congrats Jackattack07!
congrads!!!
jackattack: it is so refreshing and inspiring to see the ppl here who want to make a diference, naturally and with diet and exercise........instead of medication. (when possible).
Thanks everyone :) Yeah my doctor is always wanting to fix everything with medication, but she really is a nice lady. She wanted me to go on meds for my cholesterol too but I'm going to take vitamins and see if my exercise helps.
Oh, this made me so happy to read. Way to go! What a long way to come in a few months, congratulations!
Wow - jackattack07, total kudos to you. That is really fantastic. You've really worked hard for such a great result.
The best motivator is good results !! CHEERS !!!
Oatmeal helps lower cholesterol.
Also watch sweets and breads as they increase your triglycerides - surprised me when I learned that. MY HDL and LDL were good but my TRI. were high.
Keep it up !!
