I lost around 10 pounds or so in two months time by eating 1200cals a day and doing the elliptical 5 times a week 30 minutes a day. I'm very happy with the results and am really proud of myself too. :)
However, I'm still 7 pounds away from my goal weight, but school has started and I have really little time for workouts! I have to prepare for an important exam this year and the most I can do is to go swimming 2 times a week, maybe around 30 minutes everytime- if you compare this with the amount of execise I did before, that's really little. One good thing is that I'm in total control of my diet and I still take 1200cals per day, just that I do a lot less exercises. Do you think I can still lose weight in this way, or am I maintaining my weight already?

The closer you are to goal, the harder it is to lose weight, period. If you feel comfortable eating 1200 calories a day, I'd say continue, just recognize that you have time constraints.
I think you should still be able to lose weight. If you can only do swimming twice a week, that's better than none. Also, if you can do little things at school, like maybe take the stairs instead of the elevator. I know that at my college, I took the elevator last year, but this year, have taken the stairs every time. Every little bit helps. Just don't get discouraged and stay with it! Good luck
today i didn't have time to go to the gym (i'm in college too) so i broke out the skipping rope and jumped for a half hour ... and i ended up burning more than i normally do... just find a half hour here and there or even like 10 minutes here and there to do little things like that...
actually it's not really about the time, I tend to get really sleepy and tired after doing sports, so I can't work properly when I get back home, that's why I've been avoiding doing exercises.
Are there study guides you can listen to? If so, you can always listen to them on a walk, at the gym, etc.
Can you read on the treadmill or elliptical? I personally can't, but see people do it all the time. There is a girl at my gym who reads her chemistry textbooks every morning on the elliptical machine.
Do all the little things like take stairs as much as possible, always park your car far away from entrances. Squeeze in lunges & squats when you're waiting for food to cook, brushing your teeth, talking on the phone.
