Do you work out at home or the gym?
Both.
My employer provides a fitness center and I signed up for the personal trainer program there the first of the year. At the fitness center I work out three days a week. I do cardio (treadmill and stationary bike) and some weight lifting. We are concentrating on my arms and chest.
I still work out at home as well. At home I use my Bowflex SelectTech dumbbells and work out the rest of my body.
I go to the gym because I don't have the weight set up I use at home. Also, I like going to the gym to work out. It's more of a ritual for me. If I say "I'll just do my cardio at home" guess what happens? No cardio :(
gym, every morning. I usually do about 45 min of weight training and 45 min of cardio (I love the stair master!) Sometimes I switch it up and take a group weight or spinning class. Seeing other people working out is really motivating, plus once I am there I figure I might as well stay the whole time I planned, I feel like there is so much incentive to cut out early at home..
Home. My schedule is crazy enough without trying to fit in time to make it to a gym and back. I have a bunch of DVDs for pilates, yoga, and aerobics that I use most often, plus resistance bands and an exercise ball. My boyfriend also has a weight set downstairs that I can use for weight training when I get to that point. The only thing I've used so far is the 10 pound dumbbells, but he has a full set and bench and everything.
His birthday present was a heavy punching bag with a stand, which is in the same room with the weight set, so I could even do that if I wanted to!
Right there at home = no excuses!
thats great digigirl...it's almost like you have your own personal gym
i have to go to the gym... group classes are my favorite! (if left on my own to work out, i don't really push myself)
I do mine at home. I run so I'm either on my treadmill or running outside 5 days a week for an hour. Three days a week I do a routine with weights for my arms using 3 and 5 lb. dumbells. I'm too self conscious to work out a gym so I prefer the privacy of my home.
I take classes at the local community college -- I take a weight lifting class a cardio class and a weight management class so I have like 3 personal trainers at my disposal Mon - Thur I usually get to the gym to do the weights from 4:30 - 5:30 then either my cardio class or the weight class as they are on every other night.
Weekends I try to work out on my home elliptical but have to admit I've fallen off that habit.
i work out at 24 hour fitness and have a trainer that measures me and weighs me once a month.
I have my own elliptical and a dumbbell set, so that's what I use, plus in the summer I run outside.
Both
Cardio at the gym and weight lifting at home. My gym have have too many people on the weights.
Home. I live on the water and love to swim, so I'll swim in the ocean(not really ocean, but it's salt water.) If I feel like running, I'll use the sidewalk. I also weight lift at home, and do core exercises at home.
I'm hoping to soon join a gym, but as of right now the funds are not there :( So.... I'm DVRing different stuff off of Fittv. Right now I'm enjoying a kick boxing cardio workout. It kicks my butt! I try to burn at least 200 calories 5Xs a week.
YMCA, home, and now my moms house since she just got a sweeeeeet treadmill. her place in in the country so it was always a tug of war if i wanted to go out there and the gym in the same day - now it's a lot easier to get cardio in and a visit.
I too prefer the gym. I also go to 24 Hour Fitness. They have all the equipment I don't have at home! :-p Plus, I get access to their pool, sauna, and free classes. I wasn't pushing myself as hard when I worked out at home.
Portuguese, that's awesome you have help from their trainers. How long have you been with their trainer? How has it been going?
home. I have an elliptical, a weight bench and 15lb weights. I also ride my bike to work in the summer... trying to save the environment one bike ride at a time ;)
I do my cardio workout three times a week at my school's gym and my strength training four times a week at home. I like using a variety of machines for the cardio workout - plus it only costs me $8 a month :)
home! I dont really like the crowds at gyms around here, and I certainly dont want to go at odd hours of the night just to beat the crowds. Also, I am a poor college kid, so those hundreds of dollars a year can go to something more useful. So (something I find is just as effective as the gym), I jump rope at the park across the street for 30 minutes, do abs and lunges alternating, and finish it off with a 4 mile 1 hour walk (pretty fast pace).
I know alot of people are not motivated enough at home and often will not work out, but I guarantee that if yall had a 2 year old, full of energy Black Lab that noses you out of bed every morning excited to go play fetch (in between jumprope sessions!) and go for a walk, its hard not to get up and out!
:)
24 Hour Fitness is where I work out. Even though it sucks going between 5pm-8pm since its always full. I was never able to work out alone. Boredum kills me LIKE THAT! I have a habit of looking at the person next to me doing the same thing and I'll raise the stats to out do the person. It gets wild after they raise theirs even more. lol I'm dumb like that, but its damn good motivation.
I work out at the YMCA.
But as soon as the weather gets nice I will be riding my bike everywhere!
I work out in my home for about 60-70 minutes
I run on streets for 20-30 minutes and I walk 3 hours (one at 12:30 and two at 21:00)
That is my daily program, I rest one day the week but I keep walking...
Now I want to find some time for boxing classes and earn two things. Learn something usefull and burn calories
