I'm sitting here at work bored to death and all I can think about is food! I had my usual breakfast (cheerios milk and banana) which usually keep the hunger away until 1:30 when I can have lunch.  If I drink anymore water I am going to float away!!!

It really doesn't help that I work in a mall food court.................

Just had to vent.

All I can say is finding something to do. Clean something perhaps. Not only will it make you forget about food, but it will make the time pass more quickly, AND make you look good for doing something extra. :)

So, are you hungry because you didn't eat enough?  Or hungry becasue you're bored?

I'm kind of in the same boat.  I had my usual latte and oatmeal for breakfast, but about an hour later I wanted food again.  Not that I was particularly hungry, but it's a slow day so I think about food!

Lets think about something else... like the cute clothes we'd like to fit into, or Halloween coming up in a couple of days... :)

You know what's weird is that this happens to me about once a week. And what's sad is, I even have a mid-morning snack (fiber one bar) because I have breakfast between 5-6AM, and lunch between 11-12. Sometimes even the fiber one bar doesn't cut through the food thoughts. I usually just make sure I'm super super busy, or walking and not at my desk.

I have the same problem always at night. But my body is not actually hungry...my head is. It must be really hard working in a food court...Can you have a snack just to ward off the hunger?

I am trying to keep busy.  I have cleaned, put the new desk together and made sure everything in the store was in size order, not to mention the customers and phone calls.  And unfortunately I have no one to impress since I am the boss.

My body is hungry because I went away this past weekend and allowed myself some indulgences.  One of which was soda (diet of course) which I know is a major trigger food for me.  *sigh* Its weird certain things just act like an  stimulant to me....

I'm having a slow day as well. And I'm hungry, but I think I notice it because I have time to think about it. I just keep reminding myself that it will end up making me feel like crap. I have to wait at least one more hour before having a snack. :D

You need to eat something!!  A snack inbetween meals like a Kashi Bar or an apple will suffice.  Don't go so long between meals otherwise, by the time you get home you'll be totally out of control.  Plus, you're shutting your metabolism down by starving yourself between meals like that.

Thanks! I only waited a little bit longer to eat something! I did. Plus drinking lots of water! I was trying not to give into my cravings such as chocolate! ha ha.

I had some grapes and a Kashi bar. :D

this is just me personally, but cheerios and a banana would not hold me from breakfast til lunch

if you feel you're actually hungry, i agree have a piece of fruit and maybe a protein bar or something so you know that your body doesn't actually need food

then you can worry about keeping busy

just make sure you stay within your calories

Im having the same issue. I don't work in the food court, but i work downstairs in the mall and people are constantly walking by with a slice of pizza, chick fil a or even worse (my personal downfall) soft pretzels. Seeing as how i work at a kiosk i am able to get up and walk whenever i feel like im hungry. It keeps my mind of food and give me something constructive to do. Maybe just think about the weight your gonna lose and it might help

I used to have a bowl of cereal, too, Cheerios, Special K, etc.  But, I would also keep a box of Special K crackers (90 cals for 17 crackers) and a supply of snack bars in my cabinet at work.  They were always handy for a mid-morning snack.  Just a suggestion.

today after breakfast [1 slice toast and coffee]

I was in and out of meetings and working on a huge group project and all i had to eat from 7am-9pm was a donut, more coffee and a couple of pieces of halloween candy

I came home and just started putting everything in my mouth

i kept it pretty healthy

hummus and veggies, grilled cheese steamed broccoli, melon and iced tea

it felt so good to eat

and reminded me to always plan ahead and keep snacks in my bag and around my workplace
