Work temptations! :(
This week is going to be a busy week for me. I am working this whole week. I am scheduled 5 hour shifts this week 10am-3pm which isnt bad but i have one 15 minute break and thats when i eat lunch. So i need something easy and fast, that wont take too long to eat. The hardest part for me at work is that our company sells food baskets, fruits, chocolates, cookies, anything you can dream of. We have samples of so many different chocolates there but they do give us unlimited free apples and pears on our breaks. It is so tempting because i crave chocolate non-stop especially after i have just told customers how great the product is so they will buy it! lol So does anyone have any suggestions to help me avoid the candy, and maybe some suggestions on lunches/snacks i could bring to work...
thanks
thanks

I found that there's really no way for me to put a meal down in 15 minutes without feeling sick.
When I used to get 15 minute breaks, I would just eat something like trail mix or granola and hold off on a real lunch until I got home.
What would work for me would be any one of the following:
- Peanut butter sandwich
- Cottage cheese
- Yogurt
- String cheese
...along with one of those free pears or apples
thank you guys this will help me get some ideas. It is hard not to eat at work on break because i feel like i will get my schedule all screwed up and binge when i get home even if i have a snack. otherwise i would eat when i got home, thank you for the suggestion. I went grocery shopping today and decided for lunch tomorrow i will have;
cambells soup at hand- drinkable one, either string cheese or these quaker 90 calorie chocolate bites (if im craving chocolate) and a pear. if i have enough time to eat all of this. if not i will save my pear for the 15 minute drive home. I can always drink my soup at my desk, we can have drinks if they have lids. just thought i would share, im really proud of myself!

I would suggest the Odwalla bars... they are pretty tasty and filling- and usually around 5 grams of fiber per bar... It's hard for me at work too because there is usually lots of candy around. One of my co-workers bought a big bag of those Hershey Mint truffles and put it up on my desk.... they were just sitting there...I could smell the mint..... I moved it to the back but then someone moved it back up to my desk!!! and we keep candy for our clients so now there is a jar of Ghirardelli Squares there... and of course- as if I'm not tortured enough- the clients will eat them in front of me while they are waiting to be checked out....and have me throw their wrappers away... I just keep my big glass of cold water down under the desk because my boss wants to keep things professional and doesn't want it on the counter next to me... (which was another reason I kept moving the truffles back to the back because I didn't want her thinking that I put them there!)
lol thanks. these are great suggestions and have helped me at work. jen- smelling the candy is the worst! Where i work is a large company all spread out on this one huge property are different buildings some that are shipping and recieving, then where we get orders then another - the bakery/candy kitchen! ahhhh as soon as i get out of my car in the parking lot in the mornings i can smell them cooking the candy. And on my breaks in the break room here is what you see on a typical day (except sat&sun)
Soda machine-vending machine containing hot pockets heatable sandwiches carb- coffee machine-another soda machine-and another vending machine with chips, candy,cookies gum and mints- a red bull machine- oh and a 25cent m&m/hot tamales etc machine! plus up on the counter box of pears, box of apples, bowl full of truffles, bowl full of chocolate caramels, bowl full of assorted mints, bowls of christmas cookies. it varys each day.
ugh, too much chocolate lol. can anyone say "Harry and david"
