How to you guys get exercise? Is anyone part of a gym? Are there club-type sports teams? Is anyone part of a walking (or hiking, running, ect.) group?
I'm having trouble keeping motivated to exercise and I'm not exactly sure what to do. If anyone knows that would be great.
I live in Jersey now, but i was in GREAT shape when i lived in the city! I walked EVERYWHERE. There's bally's right downtown and several Sweat gyms. All my friends go to bally's, but that's just because we're jersey/philly based and we only have bally's here.
How about biking? I know there is a cycle club in Philly that meets for rides. They have different grade rides for people of different abilities. There's also the Schuykill River trail. My husband and I rode from Valley Forge to Manayunk. I won't be doing that for a while! There are also some good parks for walking or hiking, Pennypack park and Fairmount park.
I live in Delaware county right now and I joined a YMCA. They have a pool and an awesome gym room and loads of classes. I've only been once this week, but I'm hoping to get there tomorow.
Good luck finding something you enjoy!
I like that cycle club idea. My husband and i do the trails in south jersey in the summer- and it's really nice, although i think it's because it's super flat. Do you know the name of it? VF to manayunk? wow. hahah I'd pop a lung.
It wasn't intentional. We kinda just said let's go and see how we feel. Well we made it to Manayunk ok but then remembered we had to ride back to VF to get our car. I think it was a total of 30 miles. I hurt for a couple days and had a slight panic attack on the way back. ![]()
Wow, yes, that's a lot of biking. We were out for 2 hours one day, save for taking my niece and nephew to the park on the way back we rode the whole time, but as i said-nice and flat! Plus, i brought up the rear so i could watch the kiddies. I think my sister in law was ready to kill both of our husbands when we arrived home with two sweaty exhausted kids! lol
