Working Out In Summer Heat - is there a limit?
i just wondered as it climbs to over 90 today...
i think its a good excuse to skip working out.
i dont want to deal with heat stroke or anything.
any good articles about it or info to share?

There was a link to an article not long ago that used the formula of temperature plus relative humidy. If the total was over 150 they recommend staying indoors. Where I am that number is typically in the high 140s this time of year and I still go out.
Well, I grew up in a desert climate where it would regularly exceed 110 degrees right around the time my parents would send me to soccer camp. So it can be done.
Heatstroke is something you don't want to mess around with. Maybe leave the HIIT or high-intensity cardio for another time, like early in the morning. But that doesn't mean you can't work out when it's hot out. Swimming, for example, feels great!
The most important thing is to stay hydrated, and not just with water. You'll sweat a lot more in the heat, losing salt, and you need to maintain your body's sodium electrolyte balance. So things like Gatorade and juice are good. Drink a ton of them. Also make sure to wear your sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat ... too much UV radiation can make you feel a little headachy as well. If you start feeling overheated, dizzy, or nauseous, stop, drink some fluids, and get yourself out of the sun.

I generally ride my bike when it is hot. You generate your own breeze and I find I can comfortably go 40 minutes (10 miles) when it is 85 F with fairly high humidity.
I went for a brisk walk in 41 celcius yesterday and was fine. I would recommend going out in the morning or the evening if the sun is too much.
thanks...yeh..i barely workout..and i do so indoors.
it just seems that heat really affects me unless i am swimming..
but no way am i getting in a public pool. i havent been comfortable at those places since i was little. lol
