Workout clothes and laundry
So I'm working out 5 times a week (Cardio every day for 30 min and weight lifting 3 times a week.) This ends up being a LOT of sweaty clothes to wash. Does anyone have any tips (besides excercising in my birthday suit) to cut down on the amount of laundry this is generating?

Either that, or maybe you could try a different gym? At my university gym, you can pay for a year-long laundry program. You are provided with clean shirt and shorts each time you go, and then you simply place the sweaty clothes in a bin at then end of your workout and they wash it. I don't know how many gyms offer this though. But it sure is a great thing to have...
Sorry I don't have more suggestions! I have never been much of a sweater myself (though I do push myself 6 times a week at the gym - I for some reason really sweat only in my face) and can manage laundry once a week with 3 pairs of gym shirts and shorts and still not smell. In any case, good luck!
I workout at the house and we don't have a nice program like that
. I'm mostly an upper body sweater, I wonder if a wife beater shirt would help (hate the name.)

It's one of the advantages of working out at home - no rules about having to wear a shirt; so I usually don't ;)
Well.....sometimes I only wear a bra and a pair of shorts when I work out at home. It's usually cause the only couple of workout shirts I have are being laundered at the time. I wouldn't wear sweaty clothes more than once cause I think you can get germs that way. I wash them all in hot water. Then again, I have my boyfriends disgusting sweaty hockey underclothes to wash.
I'm afraid I don't have much to offer. It might just be something there's not much of a solution for.
P.S. Has anybody tried any of the new clinical strength deodorants? I tried Dove. Hated it at first but came to the conclusion that it has to soak in and completely dry. I still sweat but not as much....no armpit shirt wetness anymore.

My husband said he saw one of these deoderants and the directions say to put it on before bed so it has time to "activate"
To th eOP If you are working out at home I would just put the sweaty clothes on a hanger in the laundry room to dry and use them 2 times - after all its only you and maybe a significant other so who cares if you smell bad - I have clothes I put on after work for just sitting around in the house and wear them for a few days since they don't smell or get dirty because I am lazy - I also wear the same slacks a few times to work before I wash them as long as they don't look dirty.
I don't wash my work-out clothes after every work-out. I just let them dry. Sounds gross, I know, but they don't stink - so why not save the water and energy!

I read an article recently that said you should put deodorants on at night because they take time to activiate. I tried it - it really works!
I think I'm going to start working out in my swimsuit - 2 piece skirt kind. (I workout at home, too - would never do that at a gym). I know that sounds funny, but I figure I can just rinse it out and hang it up to dry and it will be dry by the next day. Just rinse it out when you get your post-workout shower. Plus, it has give to it, so stretches and isn't as tight and binding, which I hate to have an elastic waistband when walking.....and jeans...........no....made that mistake the first week - just walking on the treadmill in my regular clothes. Anyway, not constricting, easy to rinse, quick to dry. Plus, I figure by next summer, it will be too big so may as well get my money out of it. LOL!
It's not sweat that smells, it's the bacteria that thrives in it. If you buy quality exercise clothes that are really good at moisture wicking (like the UnderArmour Heat Gear), you should be able to hang it up to dry (and I mean let it dry completely, don't throw it in a pile and pick it up expecting it to smell good) and wear it again before washing it.
I have roughly 3 workout tops and 3 bottoms and I work out 6-7 days a week. They all get worn twice before washing, so I end up washing stuff roughly once a week.
To piggyback on Jill's comment -- things like UnderArmour and gear made with microfiber, dry really quickly -- I usually end up rinsing my stuff out (with a touch of soap) and hanging it to dry -- it's always dry the next morning
