Do you workout if you don't feel well?
So I'm trying to figure out if I should workout or not. I was sick on Monday with a fever of 103 and than on Tuesday I had a mild one. I felt much better since than but I have this lingering feeling that doesn't go away. I feel dehydrated no matter what especially in the morning. very shakey and almost dizzy. I just don't feel completely like myself yet. I was going to do a spinning class last night but I didn't because I was afraid I'd fall off the bike. Do you think it's safe to work out even if you don't feel 110 percent?
i know how you feel i'm jst getting over the flu so i really hope your better soon theres nothing worse than feelin crappy eh.
As far as i have been told (by fitness instructors and such) you should never excersise unless you feel 100% as your body jst wont cope, its in the process of trying to repair whatever is wrong with you so there is less energy to go anywhere else. my advice is jst rest and take advantage of the time to yourself, jst make sure to watch your cals and you'll be fine, if your getting itchy feet (as i did) talk a walk not to strenous but excersise all the same
get well soon xxxx
I'm just scared that since I haven't work out since Saturday it's going to be harder for me at the gym. My body was starting to adjust to all the hard work and it was getting easier. I made it through an hour spinning class and I couldn't wait to do it again. I just don't want to lose all the progress that I've made.
You should take a few days off. Your body is not well. If you continue to push it before it's ready, it will take longer to heal and hinder your progress even further. Sure it'll be hard to get back into your regular routine after being sick, but better a little bump to get over than a long, drawn out one.
Get well soon and good luck

i"m really bad about this. I knwo that i shouldn't work out if i don't feel completely good but i can't help it. friday i ahd been feeling really light headed all day but still went to my spin class. but i felt sooo weak that night. i am actually planning to take 3-4 days off from the gym next week to give myself some recovery time. my body is begging for it.

I have tried to before, but it was just a losing battle. I've heard others that do it just fine. Even when I am not sick but I've done an intensive workout, I have found I make better gains (more strength, faster miles, etc) if I let my body recover. Your immune system comes into play for making your body stronger after exercising, so if it is low because you are sick... either way it doesn't work out the best for me.
I feel great now and I worked out on Saturday. I didn't press it as hard as I usually do but hey a workout is a workout and now I feel fine. yay!
