Too workout or not to workout?
Im having the same problem - only not so much with the pain...Im feeling really down today and finding it hard to motivate myself to go to the gym.
In your case, I would probably suggest resting and doing a full workout tomorrow, or just do a very light one today, maybe just walking or other gentle activities. Being in pain is your bodies way of telling you to rest
Soreness is an initiation. You have to work through it.
Good to take a day off though, but the second day you should be out there working through it. If you are feeling stiff, do a slightly longer warmup (less intense, or slower) until you feel your muscles loosen up.

Working out will totally make you feel better! Go to the gym! Just commit yourself to something not-too-intense. Once you start sweating you will be glad you did. Every time I skip a workout due to negative thoughts, I feel worse as the day goes on.
I'd say workout but keep it light. The other day I was VERY sore from doing too many hip anductions at too high a weight. I could barely move my legs. Even just sitting still, my inner thighs felt like they were on fire. I sucked it up and went to the gym after a day of rest, (when I was still sore as hell) and just walked rather slowly on the treadmill. Pace of 2.0 mph. It hurt, but I went in the sauna afterwards. The next day I had absolutely NO soreness at all and was able to resume my regular workout.
Everyone's different, but that what usually works for me.
fyi - to reduce the pain the following day don't forget to take the time to "cool down" the same way one "warms up" - when you do it correctly you know ...as you will feel you have worked muscles th following day, but you won't describe it as painful... hope this helps a bit.![]()
fyi 2 - if sore in day two, look into a minin workout, one for people wanting to exercise while traveling / away from home...it will keep you motivated ![]()
Pick something you really like and you'll want to workout, despite pain. I enrolled in a taekwondo studio. I go whether I'm sick or in pain or am exhausted; because I love it and I'm motivated by it. The trick is finding an activity that means something to you.
I hate the gym.
