What are the workout tunes that motivate you at the gym? I need to get back to my gym regimen but I need some upbeat music to get me going!!!!

i listen to a lot of Japanese rock,  Metal.. just over all heavy stuff and songs that i LOVE. then i dont notice how long i've been on a machine and am not constantly checking the time and going "OMG I HAVE 20 MINUTES LEFT!"  and metal tends to have a good heavy beat to move too ^^.

heck, my mom listens to linkin park when she goes to the gym lol

I'm so cliche... LL Cool J's Mama Said Knock You Out. The Rocky (Balboa) Theme. Survivor's Eye of The Tiger. Olivia Newton John's Physical.

Nothing better than electronic house music to get me going =)

I listen to Gogol Bordello when I'm on the elliptical.  It's gypsy punk rock=insanely energetic.

I listen to a lot of rap and hip hop when I work out.. which is ironic because I normally don't listen to that kind of music at all.. ever.

Some great songs that are on my workout playlist:

- Let it Rock, Kevin Rudolf and Lil Wayne

- ANYTHING BY TI. My favorite is "Whatever you Like"

- Bathwater by No Doubt

- Poker Face by Lady Gaga

I listen to more alternative kind of stuff, here's list I posted to another music question a while ago:

Headlights Look Like Diamonds - Arcade Fire

Time to Pretend - MGMT

Heimdalsgate Like a Promethean Curse - Of Montreal

Make Light - Passion Pit

Mis-Shapes - Pulp

Common People - Pulp

The Mending of the Gown - Sunset Rubdown

jl, I think we have the exact same playlist.  It's funny for me too because I don't listen to that kind of music outside the gym either.  Anything hip hop gets me going.

I LOOOOVE running to Hello Brooklyn! It's got that deep, pounding bass and Jay-Z has so much drive. His lyrics make me want to push harder. With that in mind, I recommend his latest album, Blueprint 3.. Love him, love his voice, and love working out to his music.

I also love Linkin Park as well. Anything by Katy Perry - she is so energetic! And last but not least, anything by Lil Wayne. I'm obsessed with him so I love just about anything he does, but for the milder fans I would recommend other artists' songs that he's featured on. (Jay Sean - Down. Drake - Forever. Keri Hilson - Turnin' Me Off Remix. Tyga - Coconut Juice. Akon - I'm So Paid.)

Hope some of these help!
