What is your workout schedule?

Quote  |  Reply

Do you have a workout schedule?  (I'm just talking about which days per week.) Just wondering if most people just go whenever or if they have a strict schedule of what days they workout and if that works for them.

I exercise 7 times a week, but I do not have a set schedule. Some days I'm tired and don't exercise at all; other days I'll feel really energetic and exercise twice or even three times.

You're going to get a variety of responses. I am unorganized and last minute, so I have a tough time sticking to a set schedule. The only schedule I have is that I try to exercise at least 6 times a week. Also, I exercise at completely different times in the day. Somedays I'll work out at 5:30am; other days I won't go till 6pm.

Good luck :-)

I have a strict schedule, mainly because I'm a student and uni life gets pretty hectic...I do my weights 3 times a week, on Monday afternoon, Thursday morning and Friday morning, I do my cardio early in the AM before breakfast 6 days a week. Seeing as to how busy I am with my coursework, I'd be overwhelmed without a proper schedule. During breaks it's alot more casual and I can workout anytime I want.

I work out 5-6 days a week but the one day I never work out is Friday! Fridays I like to come home and relax after a hard week at work!

6 days of cardio, 3/4 days of weight training. I usually take Saturday off (I'm running around so much on that day it's like a workout anyway!)

And yeah, I'm strict. I backslide if I'm not.

I just started a new workout plan.

The schedule is easy to remember, it is at 5:30PM....

every day

Yep, 6 days a week. 6 days cardio. HIIT 3 of the 6. Lifting 3 days a week opposite my HIIT days. That plan pretty much keeps my metabolism reved all the time. If you set a schedule for yourself and get into a routine it is easier. You know what you have to do and get it done.

I have no set schedule due to my job and the opening hours of my gym.

I'm a freelancer, so I work when a customer wants me to.  That's usually mornings and late afternoons or early evenings with a gap of time in the middle.  The gap's not generally enough time to get home, change, work out, shower (again), and get to the next appointment.  But it is enough to walk the dog, which I do 99% of the time.  That's my only constant!

My gym is open M/T/S/Su from 10 - 12:30 and M-F 3 - 9:30.  German business hours suck.  I fit in gym time whenever I can, i.e. when there's no appointment or one's been cancelled.  Usually, I manage 3 a week.  I also squeeze in running when I can.

Seven days a week usually. I just joined a gym so I'll be switching it up a little... We usually go to the gym for an hour.

I always do 30-40 minutes of weights at home every night.

S - We'd have to go in the afternoon after church. If we didn't go, I'd jog on my treadmill at home for 30 minutes and probobly take a 30-45 minute walk.

M - Treadmill at the gym (running at appx. 6mph) for anywhere from 30-60 minutes; maybe some weights and ab crunches with stretching.

T - Elliptical for 10 minutes; Treadmill for 30 minutes (running at 6mph); Stairmaster for 10 minutes; and then biking for 10 minutes.

W - Same as Monday.

T - Treadmill hill intervals (45 minutes; 6mph no incline, 5mph at 4-5%), and 15 minutes of elliptical/stair-master/biking.

F - Same as Monday and Wednesday.

S - Random. Sometimes I'm at my grandma's and I use her elliptical for about 40 minutes. We'll sometimes go to the gym later in the day too.

Soon my grandma will open her pool too, so we'll be headed over there most days of the week. I LOVE being active, which is good since I love eating too. I have to eat thousands of calories a day, but it's worth it.

Strict schedule six to seven days a week (depends on evening appts)

M - Chest and back and abs 1 hr weights and 45-60 min cardio
T - 45-60 min cardio
Wed - Bi's and Tri's and abs weights 45-60 min cardio
Th - 45-60 min cardio
Fri - legs and abs and 45-60 min cardio
Sat - 60 min cardio OR 2 1-hr classes, yoga and spin
Sun - 60 min cardio and exercise outside (bike, hike or walk)

i like working out first thing in the morning after i've had a light breakfast. I'm a student, so that way I have the whole day for class, homework and work without any interruptions, plus I focus better after a workout.

cardio 6 days a week 50 -75 minutes (depending if I'm doing weights or not)

weights 3 days a week (either 15 minute circuit or 30 minute free weight routine, I like to mix it up!) good luck to you!

I have 3-4 cardio days and 2-3 strength days. It just depends on my boys and husbands agenda. There are work, sports, school, tutoring, music lessons, charity work, sisters plans, caring for my elderly in laws etc to fit into my week. I'm having a hard time finding time to get consistent. I take off Sunday always but switch days depending on what is going on. If I could find a way to get my boys to get themselves ready for school on their own I'd go to the gym at 5:30 am.  Right now I plan out my  workouts on Mondays.

I do boot camp 5 days a week. I try to do it Monday-Friday but if I miss a day I can go Saturday (which is twice as hard as the workouts during the week). Boot camp involves lots of cardio plus resistance and strength training.

I try to go to the gym 3 days a week for cardio, and do yoga/stretching at home 3 days a week too. I don't have a specific schedule for the gym/yoga and I find that I don't get it done as much as boot camp because of that. This post is actually making me think that planning out a schedule would help me stick with it more Smile

Same here unless I skip a workout during the week for some reason.  Like this past Wed., I was really busy after work and tired so I skipped working out and vowed that I would make up for it Friday ;).

I do 6-8 week chunks that I pre-schedule. So I know my schedule right now for the next 5 weeks, then I will re-work it and so on. Now I do 5 times a week, next chunk will probably go down to 3 times a week, and so on. I usually do 3-5 workouts a week on average. For some reason I need to have it penciled in to the letter what I am doing or I just find excuses not to go.

Hm... I train for triathlons, so here's my schedule:

Sun: 6 mile run, 30 minutes weights

Mon: Spinning or bike ride (1-2 hours) and elliptical or run (20 minutes)- BRICK workout

Tue: Rest

Wed: Running interval workout... 1 hour 15 minutes

Thur: Recovery Run (5 miles) +Weights (30 mintes)

Fri: Tempo Run 4 miles + Running strides (1 hour 15 minutes)

Sat: Swim (1 hour) Easy jog (30 minutes)

Actually, most of those days are shuffled around, but I hit one of each day every week... if that makes sense (ie- "Monday" and "Thursday" workout may be switched)

I used to go to the gym 5 days a week plus hockey and other sports... but that routine kind of feel off with my knee injury... but I do exercise 5 days week now... with Hockey twice a week, Golf once and walks the other two nights... it seems to be workin for me...

Hi

How funny i'm the exact same way. I try to work out 5 times a week for 40 min, but never on friday. No matter how I work out during the week, friday is my day off

:D

Set schedule here too, 5 times a week (usually).

Saturday/Monday/Wednesday - Weights

Sunday/Tuesday or Friday - Long walks

Thursdays are my off day. I work nights and weekends so keeping track of what day it actually is can be a bit of challenge sometimes. Not having a set schedule would probably cause me to skip it all entirely.

Fridays are my light day - treadmill only

Monday & Wednesday = upper body circuit + treadmill

Tues/thurs = lower body circuit + treadmill (just enough to walk it all out)

One day on weekend I hike 6 miles on kennesaw mountain

the other day I rest. If I don't hike I have to swim but that isn't an option and won't be anytime soon since our pool has a leak at the bottom and has to be patched. Plus the water is all green. UGH
