Workout suggestions?

Quote  |  Reply

I used to be active about 2 years ago, but ever since I quit the softball team, I've been pretty lazy.

I would like to start walking, so I ordered a pedometer to track my calories and how far I walk. I would like to do more than walking to burn off the weight, though.

If possible, can anyone provide any other suggestions, like videos?

I'll be going to college in a few months, so I need something that I can fit into my time frame when I go away.

Thanks. =]

I'm a big fan of videos.  It isn't easy for me to get out to the gym often, so the convenience of videos is perfect for me.

You said you were headed off to college-which means small dorm room.  I live in NYC so I appreciate small living spaces.  Keep that in mind when looking for a video.

There are so many great videos out there now.  Sites like Overstock.com have a huge selection and most are in the $10-12.00 range.

The range of videos available today is shocking.  This is not your mother's Jane Fonda.  You can get everything from Naked Yoga and Aerobics (I kid you not), to Goth Style Videos, to Stip Tease.

I've been into the 'dance' styled ones because I forget I'm working hard when I'm paying attention to doing the moves. In particular, I've been having fun with Belly Dancing, Aerobic Hawaiian Hula, and Bollywood.

What is great about sites like Overstock is that you can read the reviews that other purchasers have left.  It has been a great guide for me when buying.

P.S. When you get to college-most give free or cheap memberships to on campus gyms.  So that is also an option

Have Fun!
