In the past I've typically worked out in the morning but since I gained 10 lbs and feel like maybe I need to alter my routine or something? If I start working out at night or later in that day do you think that would help? I feel like maybe my body just wants more sleep and rejects the early morning workouts.
What do ya'll think?
You dont need to change when you work out- you need to change how you workout. Your body isnt responding to your current workout plan anymore because its used to it. Either extend your workout (if you run for 30 minutes a day-add another 15 on) or increase the intensity of your workout (for example, run at a faster pace for the same amount of time). Those examples are just with running, but you get what I mean with changing up your workout to be more of a challenge for you.
I run 5-6 miles per day already..i do sprint intervals every other day...i switch up my cardio occasionally jumping from machine to machine...i cant imagine working out any harder than i already do without collapsing
On the days that you don't do sprint intervals (the steady-state cardio days) why don't you try changing your weights routine? adding more weight, changing the order of you sets, supersets, learn & do different weight exersices.
Also to change things why not do a fitness class once a week (to start) just to change it up a little and surprise your body & challenge it.
Last but not least, maybe change your running route? that might make a small difference.
