workout tips for stay at home moms

Quote  |  Reply

I was wondering if anyone has little workout tips for other moms that stay at home.  I do about 40 min on the treadmill while my 15 month old b/g twins are down for their nap but what are the little things you do to burn the extra cals or tone your muscles?

1. I do sit ups on an exercise ball while I push them in their swings.  They think its funny because I am below them and I sit up and push them then do a sit up to push them again.  They crack up laughing when I fall off the ball.

2.  I feed them in their highchairs with music playing and dance around the kitchen.  I used to sit while I fed them but I know standing burns more so when I do dances I assume I am burning a few more cals.

What do you do?

i'd say you're doing a great job.  one other thing i've learned is to put some hustle in your step.  clean your house as fast as you can, to get your heart pumping a little faster.  you'll get the house clean in a fraction of the time and you'll burn extra calories at the same time.  even just a few minutes here and there while your twins are playing/sleeping can really make a difference

there are lot of exercise for pregnant women..

actually my wife, as a physical therapist.. she do keggel's exercise..

a lot of deep squatting..

because for pregnant women.. their pelvic bone and softer.. and you have to exercise for that bone.. for healthy labor in the future..
