workout tunes that get your heart pumping

Quote  |  Reply

I accidentally put this in the fitness forum, but I think it fits better here.  So...

I have been listening to the same old workout playlist for a while now and need some new inspiration!  What are your suggestions for songs or artists to add?  What gets your heart pumping and helps you go that extra mile, rep, mph, etc.?

Some of my current faves:

Boom Boom Pow -Black Eyed Peas

When Love Takes Over - David Guetta with Kelly Rowland

Pon De Replay - Rihanna (well, basically any upbeat Rihanna)

Rock and Roll - Led Zeppelin

Say Hey - Michael Franti and Spearhead

Thanks for your input and keep up the good work!!! : )

Anything by "The love it band" gets me biking or walking :)   Check em out! :)   Thanks for the song suggestions!

Totally agree with anything upbeat Rihanna. She's like a staple of mine :D

I like things with a fast techno beat (Blue - Eiffel 65, Numa Numa - ?) to keep me speedy.  I like songs with attitude (any Rhianna, Womanizer - Britney Spears, Without Me - Eminem, I Don't Wanna Stop - Black Sabbath) to make me push myself.  I like classic rock and 80's pop to keep me happy and motivated (Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns n Roses, Piece of Mind - Boston, Carry On My Wayward Son - Kansas, Hey Mickey - Toni Basil).

I have a wide range of music on my iPod full of stuff like that...I put it on shuffle and go to work!

It depends what I'm doing. I cycle, so if I'm going up a hill I like fast, almost angry music which I don't usually listen to a lot usually (Killing in the name of, by Rage against the Machine is GREAT for this, and also The hand that feeds, by nine inch nails). When its a casual ride I'll listen to almost anything, as long as it isn't too slooooow. Here are some good ones:

basement jaxx - raindrops

the beautiful girls - i thought about you

bluejuice - vitriol

the gossip - heavy cross

guru josh project - infinity 2008

the cloud room - hey now now

kaiser chiefs - never miss a beat

lonely island - i'm on a boat (heheh)

MSTRKRFT - bounce

the presets - yippiyo ay

phoenix - lizstomania

bloc party - the prayer, pioneers, banquet...list goes on

the thermals - now we can see

Mudvayne- determined

Foo Fighters- the pretender

From First to Last- the greatest plague

Static x- push it

mudvayne- pushing through

trapt- headstrong

I like house music.

Specifically for working out Bad Boy Bill or Oval Basoski.

Minestry of Sound has some great compliations that are wonderful to run to.

Amen on the Led Zep front there!

All my Life - Foo Fighters is INSPIRATIONAL for HIIT sprint bursts, especially the last minute or so, gets me SO fired up!

i love the 80's rock bands....Def Leppard, White Snake, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, ACDC....etc
