Worried about extra skin?

Quote  |  Reply

Hey all! Just had a question that has probably been posted many times before :) Anybody worried about having extra skin after losing your weight? I know I am. I had twins 2 years ago and the pregnancy stretched my tummy out beyond the limits. My skin is really saggy there (i know its so grosss!). Plus I have about 70lbs to lose still. I know that after I have my next baby I am going to get a tummy tuck. There is just going to be so much skin, I cant handle it. Anyone else worried about it? What do you guys think? :)

My skin is stretched out due to a lifetime of obesity and I definitely have extra skin. I'm not worried about it, per se, but I am resigned to it.   I'm down 112 lbs in total and have another 45+ to lose.  I think that I could probably wear a size or two smaller if it weren't for my stomach. I have already made plans (and have started saving) for a tummy tuck and breast lift (yeah, don't get me started on those puppies!) once I reach my goal or am very close to it.    It will be expensive, but worth it, I think.  Well, at least for me because I know that it's not for everyone.

Good luck and congrats on your twins.  Smile

I had quit smoking, then had a baby soon there-after. The result: gaining 130 lbs in less than a year!!! Even at my heaviest my stomach has that awful sag. My stomach used to be one of my best features! I've heard that toning can help reduce the amount of damage, but 1,000,000 crunches a day wouldn't help me! lol I also plan on the tommy tuck and breast lift (maybe a job too, we'll see), after loosing the weight. ~I will go there with the breastesses... At my smallest I was a D; largest an I (yeah, I didn't know that exisisted either), and now a healthy G. I figure that when my weight is gone, my stomach will sag to Lord knows where, and the breastesses will look like two deflated balloons that will rest probably around my belly button somewhere. Gotta love life, huh?!!! :p Luckily, on Dr. 90210, I did see a woman whose stomach looked similar to mine, that had a tuck and you couldn't even see a single stretch-mark!!! I could only dream of results like that. Maybe there is hope for us afterall! :p In the meantime, fitting in a smaller size at all has to be a great reward as well. Saggy skin or not, at least we can look good with clothes on, huh? (laughing and crying at the same time :p) Yes, there are others out there that do feel your pain.

Hey congrats on the big loss!!

Just thought I would let you know what I did.

I have always been overweight. I wanted to do the stomach reduction surgery, but had mixed reviews from people who had done it. I knew that at some point I needed to make a lifestyle eating change.

Eat right and excersize is the only answer.

I did however have plastic surgery a year ago!!

I had a tummy tuck and a breast reduction and lift!

I felt so great after the surgery.

I have gained back some weight, but am back on the right track!!

So, I would say, save your maney and have it done, it is so nice to have "normal" size boobs and no overhanging stomach!!

So, keep up the good work and look to the future!!
