I have a question-
I am very overweight, but losing (nine pounds as of today...yay me). While I am delighted that i am losing weight, I am also concerned about my skin getting all saggy after the weight is gone.
Has anyone gone through this or have any ideas about how to avoid it? I would really appreciate any info.
Thanks

Make sure you do some weight training at least three times a week, it will help
Since losing weight my tummy got very saggy and just kind of hung over my trousers, which is almost as depressing as having a big stomach over there. I've found that doing pilates has helped tone my stomach up a lot more, so theres a bit less excess skin, although of course theres still some there. Its great because even only doing 5 quick excercises/moves before bed time can help, and its so easy that you don't need to worry about making too much time for it.
I would also reccommend maybe buying a swiss ball and learning some excercises for that, the sit ups are REALLY good for stomachs and legs.

Folks who try to loose weight very quickly tend to get the saggy skin thing. If you do a slow, steady weight loss, you shouldn't have too much trouble. The skin is very elastic, and will change with you if you give it time to do so. Exercise will certainly help, as will a good moistuizer.
thanks for all of the info guys. It really helps to have other people to talk to. Something else I wondered about, would the stretch mark lotion make a difference or just any old moisturizer?
Not an expert here but slow loss, weight training, keeping yourself hydrated at all times and certain lotions should produce the best results.
i have not worked out much.
if i noticed loose skin i would maintain my weight for awhile and eat protien.
get some of those skin vitamins. oil of olay makes some.
use lotions ( curel age defying or coconut oil)
80 pounds gone and only my tummy gets loose a bit after bloating.
but i smoke and am almost 30..so ithink its just normal for that type of body.
but its snappy everywhere else.
my lower abs are not toned though
i didnt get any stretch marks and i am prone to them (did during the gain)
my neck and chin just recently tighened up.
:)
FINALLY
hee hee
good nutrition = good skin

P.s. I know it wont reduce it or anything, but I find Palmers Cocoa Butter really good for firming skin.
