what are your worst binge stories?
almost an entire menu?
multiple drive thru stops?
what is the MOST you ever took in in a binge?
just curious
Is this really a good thread to start? I mean, real binge eating, whether on its own or followed by purging, is a form of disordered eating, and although it may be good to talk about on the health & support forum (more in terms of the feelings that are involved in a binge and ways to avoid binge-eating behavior in the future), recounting a "binge" as something to laugh or brag about doesn't really seem like a good idea. Also, many of the posts on this thread do not describe real binges, and using a word like "binge" lightly does not work toward truly dealing with the issue. Sorry to be a downer, but it's worth thinking about how your posts affect others on this website.
yummy_kitty you are a god among mere mortals
I want to say first, I read early in the thread going through a binge was described as feeling like you're "not there". That's exactly how I feel when I binge! It's as if I'm not even awake, I'm just putting food into my mouth, not even tasting it, just eating and eating and eating, gah. It's terrible! I only binge when I'm upset, and BEFORE I even start eating I tell myself "I'm upset, so I'm going to go eat.". Next thing I know, I've eaten every kind of bad food in my house, and I just feel like I want to die. That's the worst part- the aftermath. My worst binges almost always involve the same foods, peanut butter, any nuts, ice cream, CHEESE, snack foods, loaves of bread, and chocolate milk. Today for instance, I was doing SO WELL- then my mom brought home a giant tub of Planter's Honey Roasted peanuts.. lovely. I tried to limit myself to only a few handfuls, but that was impossible. I took a break, but within the hour I had consumed around twenty servings and CONTINUED to eat a half gallon of Breyer's strawberry ice cream! Gah! The way I see it- it will even out if I'm careful about what I eat the next few weeks. I'm so glad I found this thread, it is extremely comforting reading all of your confessions. Best of luck to every one of you in overcoming the binges! <3
