I posted this in chat, figured it deserved its own topic:

Wow! Suprisingly, the only thing I've eaten on that list is the aweomse blossom.

Great list! Thanks!!

i read this morning, it showed up on my hotmail homepage! so crazy. some of the stuff there is 3000 calories! no wonder i leave restaurants feeling so sleepy...

i don't think i've ever eaten any of that stuff (a lot of it has meat in it, which i don't eat) but i have singlehandedly eaten a blooming onion from outback steakhouse, is is over 1000! that was an intensely regrettable situation which i will NEVER repeat. i honestly almost puked.

I haven't had any of those! But then again, they all seem to contain meat or dairy (which I don't eat) and the only one that doesn't (Awesome Blossom) is fried, and I don't eat fried food either.

Reading those made me feel a little queasy, yuuuuuck.

I think it's an especially effective article, however, because it offers sensible alternatives.

I'll give it an A.

Hmmm. I've had the awesome blossom and the Uno's pizza.

Reading that left me feeling slightly ill. Tongue out

I narrowly escaped the Awesome Blossom last week and even though I hate to admit it...it was b/f who reiterated it's nasty calories and fat...

I wanted it :(  But I agreed!  and we are a few thousand calories less b/c of it!

I've never had any of these. Then again, as a rule, I don't eat at chain restaurants. Blech. If I'm going to intake too many calories, it better be worth it - and the chains IMO aren't.

Last night for example we dined out at an upscale, authentic mexican place that even had grasshoppers on the menu. See if you'll ever find something like that at a chain. :-)

(yeah, I'm a total food snob!)

I've had the Chili's Honey Chipotle Crispers with Chipotle Sauce. That's over 2000 calories for 1 entree. I went to Mimi's cafe today and they have a triple chocolate brownie a la mode type dessert that is about 2000 calories as well. I am sooo glad I decided not to get it to split with a co worker.

There's a reason a lot of places hide their calorie contents.  They know if they posted them in the restaurant no one would order their calorie bombs.  I've had the not-so-awesome-blossom before but fortunately it was split between me and 3 or 4 other people.  Generally I assume that any of the entrees at sit down restuarants are going to be calorie bombs.  I really wish we had a law that they would have to list their calories on their web site at least.  That would probably force them to rethink how they prepare those items.
Outback Steakhouse Aussie Cheese Fries with Ranch Dressing
 ah man, I love this!

Most chains I don't care for, but I so still love Uno's.  But I never get the Chicago classic pizza - if for no other reason that I hate sausage on a pizza.  I get the mediterranean flatbread pizza, which is quite reasonable if you only eat half of it.

I've had the Outback version of the Awesome Blossom (Bloomin' Onion).  I only had a few bites, and it was okay, but I can't imagine anyone eating a whole one of them - that's just disgusting.

And I haven't had the Pepperidge Farm pot pies, but I'm positive the Marie Callender's are just as bad.  Couldn't even consider eating one of those now.

i actually saw a link to that list and clicked on it when i checked my Hotmail today!  it seriously made me feel a little queasy.  i've had burritos [vegetarian] from qdoba before and i knew that the tortillas themselves were very heavy on calories.   i've never had anything else on that list though, i am proud to say! haha
Me and Anthony Bordain are too closely related I think. NO chain restaurants. none. I have eaten nothing on that list.
I haven't had any of The 20 Worst Foods, either... mainly because I prefer local restaurants to chains, like jenmcc, santonacci and shnooder.  I don't mind the occasional calorie-bomb.  In my opinion, the problem is when these things become the rule rather than the exception.

I dont know if anyone has checked out the video about it, i personally enjoyed the vid even more than the article, though thanks a bunch for posting it!

I've never heard of any of this stuff.  'Cept the Awesome Blossom, but that was an appetiser split amongst many starving hockey fans and I was doing my best to not stuff my face in case I screamed so hard I puked.
