what has been your "worth it" moment?

Quote  |  Reply

So, for the first time in my life, I've bought "the hot bikini"!

Honestly, I'm gonna do everything in this thing. It's been a really long road getting to this point (I've lost 41 pounds), but it's been so worth it!

What's been your "worth it" moments? My real one was when I realized how physically strong I've become, and how much my endurance has improved. The bikini is just vain (but it does feel good!).

Thanks to everyone on here for the support, advice, suggestions etc!

I guess I'll go back to work now (wishing I could wear it here! :) ).

Sharing clothes with my families has been so far my best "worth it" moment.

My little sister and mom shares clothes. They wear size small to medium, 4-6 pants sizes. Before I started diet I was about size 8-10. Now that I lost 33 pounds (and keep going!) I can fit into their clothes as well. My sister and mom has so many cute clothes that I wanted to try for a long time. I am also glad and thankful that they are willing to share their clothes with me. My mom volunteered to buy me loads of clothes when I reach my goal weight Wink

I was size 18/20 when I started.

The biggest moment was when I fibally broke down and bought new bras and saw that I'd lost 4 inches in band size ... and I could wear any size 12s in the store.  I cried for joy, literally.

Goal is size 8.

I scored w/ this hot lifeguard.

being able to pull off skinny jeans w/o looking like an upsidedown triangle!

I bought a swimsuit....without crying because I'm fat.

The first time that I walked into Fashion Bug (a women's clothing store where one side is Plus-Sized and the other side is Misses) and being able to buy every piece of clothing from the Misses side only!  I'd never been able to do that before.

I bought new American Eagle jeans while on vacation last October in the size that I always (used) to wear, but had become snug. It was so great to take the tags off about a month ago and put those jeans on because I could now fit into them. And they look fabulous!

this is soooo encouraging to read! I can't wait to get to my "worth it" moment - thanks for posting...

Ooh I've had several, yesterday I could chest press 10kg easily and had to up my reps so I'm very proud of that.

But I think my best worth it moment is yet to come. My bf invited me to his works ball in a few weeks. I bought my dress, which is stunning, and it fits perfectly! Trouble is now I have to maintain, otherwise my dress will fall off lol (its strapless) and I can't wait to see his face when he sees me in itLaughing

My "worth it" moment happened about a month ago when I was chosen for my city's police academy. :) I still can't believe it!

I've had a few mini-worth it moments - still waiting for the big one...  I only see my boss an average of 1-2 hours per week because she works in a different building.  My boss is a very small health freak who does not hand out compliments lightly.  Yestersay I went to her office for a meeting and ran into her by the elevator.  She didn't even looking at me - so I said hello.  She said 'Oh! Alicia!  I didn't even recognize you - you're so skinny!'

 Whoa! Congratulation! :D

My worth it moment: this was three or four years ago, I had lost about 40 lbs and was now at a petite 110 lbs (the lightest I've ever been!).  I was at my cousin's wedding, the first dress-up event since my weight loss.  I saw my sister B talking to G, my cousin's best friend in high school.  I went over to say hi to G, as I hadn't seen him since then.  I smile at him and wait for my sister to finish talking, and I see G look me up and down out of the corner of his eye.  B stops talking and says to G, "That's Star".  He turns to face me and his eyes got all wide, he covered his mouth with his hands and goes, "Oh my God...you're a woman!".  Looking back, it sounds kind of insulting, but he totally meant it as a compliment.  That was such a great moment.

Thanks junzzz! :)

Thank you so much! I can't wait to get started. :) We're doing a 5-mile run on the 3rd day of the academy! Aahhh! I have to get off here and go running. LOL.

I had a belt on that I wear all the time and I was trying to tighten it and I realized I was on the last hole Laughing I've since then gained 7 lbs so I can't wait ot get back there again.

I have a pair of pants that used to be hard to do up. I remember the night I took them off without undoing the button. Completely worth all the counting and exercise!
