Wouldn't it be good if on calorie count website, you could add in new recipes, the foods you add in yourself....................
Ie the add it yourself foods, when the food lists do not have similar same or precise ingredient you need for a recipe.
For example, I added in my Leskol cheese, which is a mature cheese alternative it has low salts, no sugars and only half the fat of mature cheese, but the food lists on calorie count do not have it in their lists, the only one that is nearest is a colby cheese, but the calories and make up and quite different, ie less calories than Leskol, but higher in salts, so not brilliant.
So I add it and put in the full breakdown of the leskol to add it here, when I tagged it, a number appeared at the top in the search bar, where you get the numbers for specific ingredients, ie 5 oz soya mince [5674], and it finds it in new recipe. are you all with me? So me being me thought wooooopooooo! I can add leskol to my new recipe now as I have a number so I added it, 28 grams Lescol half fat cheese [87150687] but it went red, so I was sadly disapointed as I have to always do a recipe, without it in abd add it as an after ingredient via my tagged items to my food log.
Wouldn't it be great if you could add the foods you have added and taggged into your recipes using the number at the top in the search bar, that way, anything that isnt listed in the food lists, you could use like the food list foods, getting exact amounts and breakdowns.
Or is this one step too far, for an already large inteligent website? or would it be possible? Can I have your views, and also is it possible already and I just dont know how to do it.
Look forward to your comments, views or even better a solution to my annoying problem.

I think that would be fantastic! I have several components in recipes that have similar items in the database, but are not exactly the same. Great suggestion!

Wonder if the people who build the site would think so and I wonder if its possible, also wondering if I should contact the site with the idea, see if it can be done.
Anyone else with a comment or view would love to hear from you.

Itd be great! But what I do to get around it is tag the recipe once I've already added it to my log as a "food" then tag the item in question under the same tag name. So then when I eat that recipe again I just use the item tag to add both at the same time.
I hope that made sense.....I use it alot when I make hungry girl recipes using low sugar cake mix since I have to add the cake mix separately.
Ok let me try to put that into practice I sort of get it, hang on I will let you know if I have understood right.................be right back

At the bottom of every CC page, you'll see a contact link. Click on that, choose your subject from the pull down list, and sent it off. It will be seen by whatever technical person is taking care of that area.
You might not get a quick answer, but I know that suggestions from members inspired many of the changes and new features at CC.
Okey dokey I will do that sometime tomorrow. ((((((HUGS))))))))![]()
