Wow...
Has anyone ever been mistaken for being pregnant? I just was and I felt like shooting myself in the foot. I'm 5'2" and 177 lbs. I'm thick, I know, but I don't look pregnant. I mean, seriously, argh. It just makes me feel even worse about my weight and makes me even more insecure about how I look. ![]()
i wouldnt congratulate someone for being pregnant uless they were like 7 or 8 months along and have a perfectly round pregnant belly. i wouldnt just walk up to a round person and congratulate them. i dont know why people even bother doing that.
I got the 'when are you due' once from a co-worker... luckily I'm a real wise @ss. I gave this shocked expression and went "Wait... I'm pregnant?!? Woah how'd that happen? Quick we're about the same size when are you due?" mind you it was a guy hehehe Never happened again!
People are just insensitive and I don't get why they do it to someone that might not be. If I see someone that's maternity shopping, or buying new baby things that is Very pregnant looking I might say something but otherwise I wouldn't.
I actually mistook a woman for just being fat when she was actually 8 months pregnant. I don't know which is worse :(
It's happened to me, My youngest son is 6 months old and right before christmas a woman from church came up to me and said, "Oh my gosh you just had one, when is this one due." She looked pretty mortified when I cracked a joke about me just being fat so she wouldn't see how embarassed I really was. That was kinda part of my "awakening" to how big I had really gotten. It doesn't make you feel good, but it did give me the motivation to start doing something about it. If it happens again, just turn it into postive motivation fuel, and know that you are trying your best.
yea 5'5" and was 224 pounds.... I actually carry nearly all of it on my stomach if you look at me from the back I just look a little overweight as opposed to obese lol.
it happened to be so many times that I decided to start using it to get a seat on crowded trams (but of course would always give it up if someone ACTUALLY pregnant or elderly came on)
lol.
My best friend is about 5 foot nothing and she told me when we met that she had recently been mistaken for pregnant, which made her realize that she needed to lose weight. I've never been mistake for preggers, but I also have the advantage of being taller (even though I'm heavy). But I used to work work at BabyGap...and I did ask a woman (she was very average) if she was pregnant or expecting (It's plasuable that she could be not showing it yet!), and she got so mad at me. People are dumb, and people get angry for no reason.
I get asked that regularly, no matter what weight I am, heavier or lighter. I think I must have bad posture that makes my tummy pooch out sometimes.
Usually, I just go with the "No, evidently I'm just fat" response, which usually evokes a mortified apology and some b.s. excuse about my "glowing."
When I was actually pregnant, and people asked, I got a laugh by saying "No, it's a cyst." The faces people made about that one were priceless!
Seriously though, it's no business of theirs what's going on in anyone else's uterus (especially some random stranger), so I don't know why people even feel compelled to ask that question. Maybe I should change my answer to "None of your business, thank you!"
I get asked every now and then. My reply is if I am we got issues. I am 5 foot. I weight 152. I have female problems that is causing my tummy to look as if I am 4-5 months preggo. I hope that after my surgery it will go down and I can get the rest of this weight off.
Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
In terms of calorie burning, moderate jumping is about equal to running a 10-minute mile, although calorie burning is always a function of time... Read more
