Wow Im angry
So I work at starbucks and I decided to take home a fruit parfait to have tonight
I looked at the nutrition label on the back 140 cals, sweet I thought (this didnt seem unreasonable because Einstein Bros ones are 180 and they have more yogurt)
so i eat it, and I go to add it on here which requires a more in depth look at the nurtition label
the nutrition label is for a FRUIT CUP and not the yogurt parfait
so I looked up the parfait online and its 350 cals!
more than twice what I wanted to consume
I suppose its my fault for not looking at the label closely, but i expect the nutrition label on my food to be for that food.
I am always shocked to see how much calories store desserts have (it is not desset but can oubelive oce slice of sbarro pizza has 770 calories!). Why don't you try nonfat yoghurts (they have various types with cholocalte, vanilin, fruits) which really taste like a good desert to me and have around 80-130 calories each serving.
I normally do. I usually go for nonfat yogurts, or I get the parfait from einsteins but i was working tonight and this was convenient.
Oh, I feel your pain! This has happened to me. I used to work for Wishbone, a "health food" takeaway shop. While we did have a lot of healthy salads and other low-calorie options, some of the sandwiches were ridiculous. The innocent looking egg and spinach salad sandwich on wholegrain bread was 600 cals. Our yoghurt, granola and fruit cups were 500 cals. It was kind of the no-expense-spared version of otherwise healthy food.
Yeah
Idk it just makes me angry that it wasnt like I was guessing it wrong but that its LABELED wrong
I've had a similar experience where something was labeled as one portion but then it really was two. I was really annoyed, but I probably should have known it was too good to be true! haha
I find that happens with things like packets of pasta, as in the ones you just add milk to. When I first started my diet both my partner and I were misreading the label and thought they were only 350 calories a serving but it was actually 600 odd. I can't eat those now as I am on 1300 limit a day so I carefully plan my food.

"Healthy" doesn't mean "low-calorie"
I did a worse thing once. I was having a "munchy" day and so I kept knocking down what I thought were Diet A & W Rootbeers to try to control my desire to overeat. At the end of the day, I realized I'd had 8 regular, not diet, root beers. 1200 calories of pure sugar, dude. Aside from horror and anger, I gotta admit, I felt pretty chipper.
Pretty sure root beer is caffeine free lol.
180 Calories for a yogurt? I've eaten yogurts with less calories then that but yeah eating things from Starbucks probably isnt smart to do.

Especially since I don't think that a 600 calorie sandwich is particularly unreasonable. What's a teenager supposed to eat from that shop? Or someone active who's maintaining their weight. They need healthy food too! ![]()
You're right, healthy doesn't mean low calorie. I should have said, what looked like healthy food actually had a lot of hidden fats and sugars (which bumped up the calorie total). And before someone else catches me out, yes I know that fats are essential too - in moderation.
