What is wrong with me? I feel like eating the whole house and that's a big problem......
Thanks in advance to take time to read my about my problem and possibly posting.
Ok, I have this problem tonight. I am 1000 under my burn meter, give or take a few calories, and I feel I could eat the whole house, but I have a problem, I live in an apartment building so it's HUGE!
But seriously, I know I haven't at the best of foods, but I feel like I could eat more! I did have some empty calories today, more then I usually do. (I know that is likely my problem right there!)
I walked to the library today, (I did it yesterday, and I usually have more activites in then that, as I have to help around the apartment building, cleaning, taking the trash out and so forth.) And today, I didn't do it.
The walk to the library is ten minute walk one way, (I walk slow) but I carried my laptop with me which is around ten pounds on my back.
But my question is, should I eat more, or should I sit tight and just ignore my body? I could use some encouragement here, really!
Never ignore your body or try to psych yourself out of genuine hunger. If it's hungry, feed it. A banana, a few oatcakes, a bowl of soup.... any or all of those will make you feel a lot better and won't harm your weight-loss in the slightest.
That is true!
But I usually eat this way, well for the last three weeks maybe so I have been doing pretty good. I do believe that I figured out what was the problem though. My sister reminded me that she had read it somewhere, and I have read it too, that diet soda makes you want to take in more calories, and I believe that may be the reason, I had two cans of diet soda yesterday. So anyways, I went to bed and I was ok with it.
It's not a bad idea to have one day every 2 or 3 weeks where you deliberately eat a lot more than normal. It's a good way to boost your metabolism and stop your body from getting too used to a fixed amount of food. It's also rather good for the soul. Best of luck
True again!
I guess I feel like I can deal with this, especially since I tried to eat only 1400 calories a day, and I was always hungery! I didn't understand that I need more to eat to burn more! (It's still kinda hard to believe it, but then again, it kinda makes sense too!)
And yes, I have had a few cheat days already, when I went up to my parents in laws over easter, I kinda watched what I ate, but I didn't record anything, (so I likely ate more then I should have) and then when I go out to my parents, which isn't often but does happen, and Monday we went out to chinese to eat. I haven't been there for well over six months or more and I was craving for that food! Anyways, thanks for the tips and everything! ![]()
Also it may not quiet be 1000 calories below, but I strive for that, but I figure if I go under that, it won't hurt every so often, (I mean only like 900 or so instead of 1000). Hope you know what I mean!
Edited: I tried the 1400 calorie 'diet' for about a month, then I gave up for about a month, then I found this and understood it more, about eating more to lose more. (I actually gained wieght with it!)
Are the foods you eat mostly made from ingredients and spices by you or a family member, or are they mostly prepackaged processed things like Weight Watchers meals, Lean Pockets, Dannon Fruit-on-the-bottom?
From my experience, when the bulk of your food intake is from these foodlike corporate products, you tend to crave them more and more.
Since I switched to a more made-from-scratch, fresh-veggie-centric diet, I get a lot less crazy cravings, and even if I had one, there are few of those products in the house. That's the problem with them, you can just pick it up and eat it, or nuke it for 3 min. and eat it.
Food is not supposed to be 'convenient', IMO.
It's a little of both, it just depends. I know it's cheaper to make your own stuff, but I also like the prepackaged and so forth. One thing I did yesterday, was eat a king size Mr. Goodbar and hence the calories were almost 400 if I remember right, but the point is, it was pretty well empty calories. ![]()
I make a big batch of veg soup (carrot, cabbage, celery, onion and stock-no potato) and always have it on hand for this kind of thing. I can eat large amounts of this for minimal cals. 1000 deficit is too large.
