What the **** is wrong with people?????!!!!!

Today I went to Denny's for lunch.  Since starting on my health journey in April, I have only been there 1X and I ordered the same as today:  Scrambled egg substitute, hashbrowns, 2 bacon, 1 pancake with no butter and sugar free syrup, and I had 2 cups of coffee with 3 creams and 2 splenda in each.  I enjoyed reading my book and relaxing.  My favorite server waited on me, and all was right with the world. 

That is, until a table of young guys @ 25-35 yrs old were seated across from me.  They were having a conversation throughout lunch regarding how a "fat woman shouldn't be eating at Denny's no matter how pretty she is".  After discussing this for a while, one guy had the gall to lean over and ask me what compelled me to get the pancakes over the salad.  I was appalled, and that's saying alot for me considering how outspoken I am.  I very calmly told them that what I eat is my business and I didn't appreciate being insulted.  One of the guys was very embarrased throughout the whole conversation and told his buddy he didn't care if I was a size 20, and that a pretty woman is a pretty woman no matter what her size.  So, here I am being insulted and complimented by a table full of men, all of whom I found attractive upon first glance.

When I was ready to leave, I called over to my server Heidi and I stood.  I walked to their table and lay my bill in front of the man who accosted me.  I looked him dead in the eye and said, "Since you see fit to make decisions for me about what I should and shouldn't eat, I'll assume you have no problem paying for my meal today?  Oh, and please leave your phone # with Heidi for me, and when I go shopping for clothes, I'll be sure to consult your services as it's not everyday a man inadvertently volunteers to pay my way through life.  I suppose I'll be much less stressed from now on since I'll not have to make these dreaded decisions for myself."  I then turned around and left.

Heidi called me 5 minutes ago to let me know that not only did he pay for my meal and tip her a hefty amount, but he says he likes my spunk, and he'll overlook my weight to accompany me on a date some time. 

Oh, the joy  I hope he holds his breath waiting for the phone to ring!!!

Yeah ok, you rock! I wish i had those kind of cajones to stand up for myself! If everyone did, maybe there would be less rude people who butt in where they don't belong!

LOL, I often wonder what the **** is wrong with people!  And wow, were those guys (except the one) rude!  But you handled it nicely, what a great confrontation.  That is the sort of thing I do in my mind but seldom have the guts to actually do.  Well done, and way to be proud!

A date with him could be dangerous: you could slip and fall in his slimetrail, the slug that he is!

 Thanks, Girl!  I just want people to know, you don't have to put up with people's crap!  You have to be your own best friend!!!  Ok, somebody call Dr. Phil.  I think I'm getting a little carried away here.

The "nice guy" is probably just like his friends.  That is probably why they are friends.

 Well, the whole time they were talking about it, before they talked to me, the "nice guy" was trying to get them to stop.  I agree though.  Most likely he's the same.  You never know.

What would you suggest on that slogan, Betty?

you have my admiration girlfriend!! i wish i was there with you!! people expect the server to do something but what can they do? kick them out and they get no tip and risk losing their job. so, i stick up for them for the server! i would have told them to shut the @*@* up! show me a picture of their mom's or grandma. would they talk about them like that? heck no!

it just shows their shortcomings is all. you may not have been able to see it but i'm sure it was VERY tiny!
