Could it be your scale is not accurate? Perhaps underweighing you before and correctly weighing you now? Try being weighed at a gym?Undecided

Personally, I don't weigh myself, I don't even have a scale!!! I go by how I feel and how my clothes fit, and this is the part I like the most: my watch band is a metal kind, not elastic or velco: when I see that it starts to slide off my wrist and slide back to a thicker part of my arm, that's how I know I'm losing weight.... I love that!!!Smile

Hmmmm, are you bloating? Ate something salty the day before?

Weight fluctuations are based on a number of things. Read this article : http://primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/w eight/scale.htm

Keep up your eating and exercise habits and base your progress on how you feel, more than that number on the scale!

Maybe if you're asking this question you should try to provide a bit more information. Such as how much you gained, your usual burn rate or maybe your height/weight. If the gain is small, then it might not necessarily be fat even. It could be water or muscle. If you're burning a high amount you could even find you're hitting a large deficit which is causing your body to go into starvation mode.

No need for the WTF thing, anyway, it would depend on how much.  One or two pounds isn't a big deal.  If one uses the scale more than once a week, that is most likely to happen.  If one scales him/herself everyday, everyday will not be a loss of weight.  Simply not doing a "number 2" for a few days will cause a very temporary gain.  Try weighing before and after doing a "number 2".  One can lose 2 - 5 pounds by simply going to the potty.  It's not real fat weight loss.  If one is a female, the monthly visitor will affect weight.  I cannot believe a lot of females never consider that one.  Just for once, weight just before a meal, and right after a meal.  There will be an immediate and temporary gain from just the physical weight of the food right off the plate, even before digestion.  That is not "gaining real fat weight either.

Thank you for the link.  I had a 4 lb gain in ONE DAY and I was not eating over 1200 calories and I move a lot.  Talk about a WT?!  I noticed that my ankles were swelling..sure enough it was water.  I began to drink more water over the next couple of days and that extra weight is gone. I don't know about you all, but water retention hurts me.  Makes my muscles feel dragged down and my skin feel too tight.  It's harder to exercise when water is retained.

My DH is dropping weight like hot potatoes, but it's a struggle for me.  Thank goodness he gets it and doesn't pity or patronize me.  And I am very happy for him.  He's starting to look kind of sexy again for an old goat :D

oh, got sidetracked...eh, it happens.  Anyhow, try not to obsess over a few days.  The point is to have a great and healthy lfe and that means rolling with the punches, but keeping attuned to the big picture.  Living life well means paying attention; finding something pleasant in things we don't like (doing dishes), and mindfully enjoying pleasures when they come.  (Hmmm, hot fudge and sunsets)  But, when I finally skid into the grave, I want to be pretty healthy for a dead person!  (WOW, WHAT A RIDE!)

that happened to me last week. saturday, i was 127 (woohoo). on sunday, i ate a chicken kitchen chop chop with mustard curry sauce (cheat meal Laughing) and when i weighed myself on monday i was 132!! man, i was frustrated but most of it was water retention. i weighed myself on wednesday because i was freaking out and i was about 129. i hate this yo-yoing but if you feel and look good, then theres no problem.
