Wu-Yi Tea - A Warning

Quote  |  Reply

I feel like such a fool. I know that "If it sounds too good to be true then it probably is", but for some reason I fell for it.

"Try it free for 14 days .. all you pay is the £2.75 shipping."

Well that's not much, even if it doesn't work I'm not going to be out of pocket so why not give it a go, I thought to myself. And they have a money back guarantee so where's the risk?

WRONG! It actually cost about £16 for the shipping etc (it does say in very small print that I didn't notice, that an extra £13 would added for delivery to the UK)

And then there's the $59.95 (another thing I failed to notice when I signed up for the "free" trial) that would be charged on day 14 if the the tea had not already been returned. To return the tea, they insist that I use UPS or FED EX which costs £52 - so more than the tea!

It stands to reason then, that there is no point in sending the tea back as I still get charged silly money.

The tea itself, I don't know if it works. It's Oolong tea and that is said to have health benefits but I tried the tea and the supplement and I felt ill and dizzy and it's given me a headache. I therefore doubt that I'm going to find out if it works in weight loss.

Anyway, be warned! NOTHING is FREE!

If it is any comfort.........you are not alone.  I had a similar situation with Acai berries.  Thankfully I had used a virtual credit card number so they couldn't charge anymore to my account.  I would have disliked paying 90 dollars for something that seem to be a sweet tart candy!  I felt I got just what I deserved and was grateful I could cancel the order after staying on the telephone for 45 minutes listening to awful music.

We usually know how we gained weight and we usually know how we will lose it.

Good luck!

man! Everyone's scamming everyone these days! I'm sure that you aren't the only one that got swindled.

Tea (oolong and other varieties) is a good part of a healthy diet (as long as it's not loaded down with sugar), and I guess the diet industry is trying to take advantage of that. Truthfully, plain ol' tea either loose leaf or bagged from your local grocer is probably healthier than whatever crap that company put in theirs.

Exactly, almost every grocery store stocks "dieter's tea". It's quite cheap. Basically though, it's just a laxitave, diuretic, with some caffeine thrown in. Lacey Le Beau's is a tried and true one.

I use it because I retain water. It doesn't taste too nasty either.

i bought that oolong tea too.  it probably has like one enzyme that facilitates the process of facilitating the process of burning calories.  what a load of crap. i ended up throwing mine away.  dont worry. your not alone.

I think part of the problem is that a lot of these things are advertised right on a trusted site...CC.  Some of them are even designed to look like they are part of the site.

I wish CC would stop carrying these ads. It seems an awful lot of people have been taken by them.  This is the second or third thread I've seen this week of people that have been scammed.

I agree!  I questioned Ask Mary about this and her reply was basically that the ads were sold by another organization to fund the site..........but I find that not really acceptable.  A definite conflict there.  This site is great and it would be very nice if it were supported by legitimate advertisers.

i dont really notice the advertisments on this site, but i agree that the criteria should be more than just any random weight loss ad.  but then again, i dont want to pay for this site, so i'll just keep ignoring them

Too funny about the advertising! I checked my page after reading this and there's an ad for Wu-Li Tea!!! Not a great way for them to make money. Weird.

I find the negative thing is that there are people who are very vulnerable to any suggestions that they might "lose in 10 days" " have a flat tummy" and all the other empty promises.  I too enjoy the site and like it free but can't help have some concern for some vulnerable person that might think it legit because it is on this site.

I use Ad Block Plus.  It's free, and I don't see the stupid ads on these pages--or anywhere that I don't want to for that matter!

Cool
