I'm about to leave Weight Watchers, not liking the new PointsPlus program at all.  I do like the support aspect of weekly meetings, but is that alone worth the price?  I have switched to tracking on CalorieCount already, since as a cardiac patient I have to pay particular attention to cholesterol, saturated fat etc that CC tracks but WW does not.

Anyone interested in a weekly or monthly get together in NW metro area? (Camden, BC, BP, Crystal, Robb., GV...)  Like at a Panera for coffee?  Or maybe even an IHOP / Applebee's for one of their light entrees?

No weigh in's, just how are you doing, celebrate success, learn from each other.  I'd even volunteer to present a short topic each meeting.

Hard to get together in person - but we can do a virtual check in!  Have you seen the new Calorie Camp feature?  Find a buddy and hold each other accountable.  : )

This sounds like fun!  And since I'm a former WW leader, perhaps I could offer a few tips/tricks.  Live in Plymouth.  Please let me know if you get something going.

Thanks!

I live very close and would consider getting together in person for check-ins, support, walks together, or whatever people would be willing to do.

Update: Having tried OA and TOPS to little avail, I rejoined WW this January.  But I'm getting that old feeling again and in fact, starting to think WW is outdated.  The big advantage of WW points was simplicity, which (as other members have also said) went away with the complicated and proprietary PointsPlus.  And they've had to retrench, taking minimum down from 29 to 26.  So now I'm looking at joining a club like LA Fitness instead, maybe strike up an informal group there.  They happen to be building a new one about 1/2 a mile from me, opening in July, and Blue Cross partially pays the fee if I show up 12 times a month.  Still thinking, but while I value all that WW has taught me, maybe I'm ready for the next level, CalorieCount on the diet side, LA Fitness on the exercise side.
