I am new to this site today!  Seems to be very informative & helpful.  How many of you have done the WW point system & found this to be easy to use either along w/ it or instead of?

I have done the WW points in the past and I gotta tell you, I like this better.  Not sure why yet, maybe it's because I am a computer geek and when I did the points it was all manual, carrying around the book, etc.

I think you can use it in conjunction with it and get the benefits of both!

Welcome!!

Hi - thanks for the info!  I must say - I love the WW website - the online 'tools' cost me about $15/mo (so not carrying the book - it's online) ... it's so simple & informative.  I put in the food it tells me the points - I put them on the tracker - also tracks activity, etc. too.  With this - it's based more on calories than points - I guess I just know I'm allowed so many points / day & it works for me - it's what I'm accustomed to.  I'm going to give it some time though...

I have been a lifetime member twice on WW and I went to meetings and did the online tools.  Both times I went to my goal within 16 weeks and both times I quit soon after and within a year i was back with my 20 lbs. back on.

I stumbled across this website yesterday and seems to be very familiar to WW except it is calories instead of pts.  idk which is better.  I am obviously an emotional eater, didn't think that but I think I am.  I watch Dr. Oz too and he has a lot of helpful suggestions on diets, etc.  I ate my normal diet yesterday and only ate 1039 calories, I don't think I eat enough foods.  My worst enemy is sugar...(ie. candy, gummy bears, worms, skittles etc.) I was eating them everyday!  And didn't even think about it or worry about it.  Dr. Oz said go cold turkey week 1 no sugar and within 28 days I should be able to kick the sugar habit.  I need to lose 15 lbs, 20 would be great and I really need to stop this up and down weight loss and gain.  Seems like everytime I do this my skin doesn't go back the same and my weight is all around my waist which I hate...I'm shaped like an apple (or maybe a tomato)!  Wish me luck.  I'm struggling with the candy issue, it is hard to walk through a checkout or a store for that matter.

Well good for you!  I've never made it to lifetime.  Right now me & some friends are doing our own "Loser" competition.  We're each putting in $50 & it's going to go the course of 6 mos.  We've all shared our wts & measurements which was NOT easy!  We're hoping to somehow link it to our FB - but private of course :)  Do you have a facebook?  It's awesome - a great way to keep in touch w/ friends!

A friend of mine sent me this website.  It's all about healthy eating that's for sure.  I just know the points system which is why it makes it easier for me.  I think I will def. sign into this 1 & check out recipes & tips daily ... but I will continue to post my foods & activity on the WW site.  I saw that episode of Dr Oz ... I think he's awesome.  I am more of a carb girl :)  Funny what makes us all tick isn't it?  I also love my red wine @ night.  I've been successful w/ having a couple glasses/night but it's like 8 pts ... I always have them to use but .... naturally then it's harder not to eat the things that are so tempting to me - like the chips ... even baked ... it's a day to day struggle but I'm going to do it this time!  Right now I'd like to lose 50 lbs by March.  I'll see how I feel then.

Good luck...and keep talking about your achievements even if it is .2 lbs. all the positive energy helps trust me.  Some people around me I think got tired of my weight loss conversation, but I just surrounded myself with positive outgoing people and I got there and you can too.

I am on face book, please feel free to add me Angela (foist) Bailey.

Hey Angela ... I know - it's huge to stay motivated & excited about it.  I know my fiancee' was kind of like "here we go again" - not that I blame him - but I really don't want to be here ever again.  I was about 40 lbs. lighter when we met & I know he'd like to lose some wt too - we'd both feel better & it's not just about that anymore - I turned 46 in May - he turned 43 in March - it becomes more & more about health.  Great - I'll add you!  I'm under Kimberlee (Lyon) White.  Talk to you soon!
