Does this and other stuff like Hydroxycut actually help you to lose body fat or am I just as well to drink 8 cups of black coffee? :)
Anyone had any experience or used it? x

The infamous fat burner question! It will work, it stimulates your metabolism to cause you to burn more fat. But you should really try and lose the weight the natural way without stimulants. The problem that will arise is your body will get used to the outside stimulation, so why you decide to off of it, it will take your body a while to adjust which means weight gain, and not to mention the headaches you will get from going off of it. And the best part is aspirin won't make the headache go away, your body can very addicted to the caffeine and the ingredients.
That being said, they will help you, but doing it natural is better even though it takes longer. If you do decide to take them limit your caffeine intake from anywhere else(coffee) and follow the directions, and don't take aver the recommended amount.
Oh before I forget there are better fat burners out there, if you would like to know e mail me and i will let you know.

Bodyscience, i think we would all like to know what the better fat burners are!! lol :)
I used to take Xenedrine back when it had ephedra, and yes! It certainly helped me lose weight. However, the longer I was on it, the more I had to take to get the same effect. And the headaches once I stopped were def severe. (it did work though!)

I've been taking two in the morning, and I swear to god my veins were about to pop! They were sticking out in my hands! So I layed off them for a week or so, and just wondered if they were worth using at all?

For my two cents ... putting extra chemical additives (whether they claim to be "natural" or not) into your body is never a good idea. Cocaine and heroin would help you lose weight too, but who the heck wants to put their body through that kind of stress? The side effects when getting off of them (Headaches and popping veins and who knows what else) are a warning that they are NOT good for you! My goodness.
Plus, I have a family member who has ended up with a heart problem which sidelined a lot of her activities; we believe strongly that it was from a weight loss "supplement" she took for some months that claimed to be safe ... and she's is only in her 30s. She gained back all the weight she lost, so what's the point? So please, please, please, please don't play with your body. The side effects sometimes are not known for years.

no offense zarelha there is no proof that the supplement caused her problem since nobody gets checked out before they take stuff. Since most of these products come from herbs and roots. But if we are going to believe that line of thinking then we should all stop exercising since running can cause heart attacks and weight lifting is bad for your joints and can cause bone fractures or death.
I'm not saying it did ... but there was a definite "cause and effect" ... fine before; not fine after. In any event, putting addictive chemicals into our body that cause jitters, heart palpitations, popping veins and headaches and which you need more of over time to get the same effect ... how can that be good?
As for exercising and weight lifting ... if done to excess, yes, you are right, but normally the health benefits (which include a LOT more than just weight loss) are such that they are worth doing within ones limits, no?
To each his own, but as you yourself stated, it would be best to do it the "natural" way, which is also more than likely more long-lasting than "the magic pill". Like Alli - yikes! Have you seen the side effects of THAT? We can't all be complete health nuts, but taking a chance with a potentially harmful ingredient is not something I'm willing to do, especially for something like losing a few pounds a few days faster.

you are right there is a cause and effect for everything, even exercise put a lot of unnecessary stress on your immune system, joint and ligaments. But we still think it is worth the risk.
It just bothers me when people always want to lay the blame on supplements and ignore the other possibilities of a medical condition. our society and the media paint this picture that supplements will kill you upon ingestion and people buy into it; meanwhile the facts are not being reported. I don't mean to lash out at you and I hope you didn't take offense to it, I have had to put up with topics like this for a long time and I get a rilled up about it.

funkybambino, many stimulants can increase the rate of fat loss, but please consider the long term. Gain it all back, and what was the point?
Unless you want to continue taking stimulants for the rest of your life, the only way to maintain a lower fat level is via commitment to better eating and exercise. Which is also the way to lose fat without taking stimulants to begin with. If you can't make that commitment when you're highly motivated to lose, you're far less likely to make it after the easy part is over (& losing fat is the easy part -- even if it takes 5 years for someone to drop their fat, their need to keep it off lasts (with luck ;-)) decades beyond that).
Some people have a legitimate temporary need to slash body fat, like bodybuilders dropping to extraordinarily low levels for competition, or models posing for "after" photos in ads for fat-burner pills ;-) They don't expect (or mostly even want) to maintain such low fat levels, so if using a stimulant helps achieve such temporary goals, why not? More power to 'em.
The problem is getting sucked into hoping that a temporary measure will lead to long-lasting resolution of a problem that was caused by poor choices to begin with. Unless those choices change, the problem comes right back.

Thanks everyone for your replies, you're all really informative and helpful so thanks.
I know that diet and excercise is a life-long thing and not just something I'm doing to lose a stone or so (I don't think you do stones in the US do you?! I mean 14lbs), and it's something I'm making realistic enough to be able to do in the long term and I guess I can't be on supplements forever.
I think I'm just getting pissed off that I'm not losing anything despite working hard at the gym and being strict food-wise..

Perhaps your workout need some fine tuning? and maybe you are being too "strict" with your food? :) .. just a thought.

that's my 2 cents :)

try taking a fiber pill and a b complex.
those are natural and are suppose to aid wt. loss.

If any of those supplements worked, don't you think obestity would be wiped out by now? Or, wouldn't you have run into at least one person in your life, an uncle, a relative who was at the perfect weight because of that supplement?
All those adds, in the fine print say "Results not typical." Why is that?
In America, we spend more money on fitness than any other country, I think we are among the most obese, LOL.
There is no subsitude for healthy eating and exercise.
Best Regards,
Nu

I don't take supplements right now, however, I did ask which ones were best in an email. The reason we dont wipe out obesity is because the people that generally take those supplements or diet pills do not change their lifestyle along with taking the pills. There is no magical pill. I'm not 100% convinced that a diet pill is the way to go, however I feel that coupled with regular exercise/working out and healthy lifestyle changes along with monitoring calorie intakes might help you lose it more rapidly. This is just my opinion. I havent tested my opinion lol, but I'm considering it.
The reason why the results not typical is printed because those adds are saying you can lose 25 lbs. in 8 weeks, which is highly unlikely.
There some supplements that don't work, but there are a lot that do. So to say that none of them work is a stretch, the reason why we are so fat as a nation because we over indulge with all that we eat. Besides the fact that only 30% of the nation actually exercise on a regular basis.
Supplements do have a place in any exercise plan, we just need to be careful in what we take.

I appreciate what you're saying, but I just wanna say that I don't expext to just take a pill and do nothing else and then I'm slim, I have made changes for life regarding eating and exercise habits, and don't see them as a quick fix, it's something I intend on carrying on for the long run.
Like I said, I am just frustrated as I workout like a Spartan but see no results! (And keep my cals under 1000, maybe that's the issue?)
I understand I have a lot to learn, but it's common sense there has to be a calorie deficit and ultimately exercise/toning which change my body and shape.
I have loads of questions regarding how much protein and stuff I should be having as I feel like I'm not having enough to even sustain the muscle I have. I hate carbs cause they make me all bloated.
I believe that the UK is following the States in the whole obese thing, and you can really see it over here.
Anyway I'm going off on a tangent!!
Cheers for all you replies though guys and gals! x

funky - if you decide to purchase supplements, please let us know how much you paid, whether or not results were guaranteed, and, if you were unsucsessful, if you could get your money back.
Just remember - typical results are that supplements do not work.
You will be doing this community a favor.
Good luck!!!!

I'd say NAY. Diet pills don't do anything for you. It's a complete waste of money and is not healthy for you either. You're much better off exercising and dietting the natural way. It's much more effective that way.
