Hello all....

This website changed my life. ( : Sounds overly dramatic, but it is true. I hope to look back a year or so from now and think, "I am forever grateful......"  Anywho, I think my favorite part of cc, aside from all the great educational information, is the overwhelming support and friendship I've found here. I guess most of my life I've only trusted and truly befriended a handful of unique women---I hold my friends in the highest regard and do not take camraderie lightly. The women I have met here are seriously my spiritual twins! I always felt very alone in my weight loss journey----no more!

That said, I think my cc girls, and you know who you are, are the best! ( :   My buddies, my pals, my soul sisters =P Chat away to motivate yourself and others! ( ;

Hey ladies!  Thank Olivia for creating our thread and a fresh start for anyone else who wants to join.  I just want to tell you guys how wonderful I feel right now!  I decided to change up my walking route at work and also my ipod songs.  I usually walk the same way, to the same point, and know exactly where I should be depending on song.  Well lately I was getting kinda bored and decided to turn left today!  I will have to clock the distance but I walked further than usual I'm sure and it felt so fast!  I had new songs on my ipod that I jammed out too!  Oh and Olivia, I actually sang outloud today!  Usually I just mouth the words because it's busy but back on this loop it's much quieter so I belted it out!  Man, there should be a walking catagory including singing because it took much more out of me to do both at the same time!  Anyway, it was fun again!  I got to walk by the water and there was a little bathroom/water fountain just about where I turned around.  Half the time I have to pee right in the middle of my walk!  But anyway, the water was refreshing even though it was gross because it was 96 degrees and the sun was beating down!!  I'm insanely fair skinned and am a little pink after 55 mins outside!  Crazy!

Anyway, just wanted to share with you that if any of you are in a rut, change it up!!  It really helped me.

Jenna- awesome job with the walk and fruit, glad Z's coming around to fruit finally (and healthy eating in general)!   I had the greatest peach for a snack this morning!!

Olivia- how did lunch go today with J?  Did you end up at chinese?  And how did the scale turn out?  I hope it was just a fluke yesterday.

I added a bunch of the movies that we chatted about to our queue this weekend and it's going to take forever to watch them all!
Make sure you bring lots of water for your walk if it's that hot.  It's the same way here, they're calling for 100's this week!!  Congrats on the weight lost and keeping it off for good!  I take walks at lunch too and come back all sweaty/red-faced.  They have little wipey things from Oil of Olay that I use to wipe down with a slight fragrance so I don't smell sweaty and they're really refreshing.  I think they're in the facial isle as they're for faces but I use it everywhere just for that "clean" feel after my walks.  Also, this may sound gross, but bring a change of underwear to walk in.  It helps me feel fresher after too.

Sorry for the gross moment, just passing on what helps me!  I have 50 lbs to lose according to my chart but I'm thinking of upping my goal weight as 135 seems a little unattainable right now.  We'll see.
Good mornings....er...good afternoon to you guys I guess. It's still before 12 here, so can I still say GM? Whatever. I am in a bad bad mood today. But before I go on that...

Olivia - Good job at all the exercising and great food choices etc. I think it is right that we all have to come to a point to lose weight and start eating healthly for ourselves. For so long I complained and did nothing about it, even if others suggested. Now I made a descision and despite good/bad/ugly I'm sticking to it. So maybe J will come along soon in his own time. (too funny about secretly buying him bigger clothes!) Sorry about the scale, but I'm sure you've lost with all ur great eating habits and exercise!!! Thanks to you, to all of you actually for snack ideas etc! I need all the help I can get, I get stuck when it comes to new ideas. I'm not big on the soy milk, but maybe if I keep trying it, it'll grow on me! How'd lunch go??

Sonics = mmmmm, limeade!! Love it

Abbs - Sorry you didn't get all schoolwork done, but congrats on what you did do! At least you did something! I hope you have fun with your family, good job cleaning the house, that's what I'm doing tonight - Fun! lol Good job at Chipotle! I LOVE Chipotle! Good tip on face wipes and undies! I bring baby wipes that help freshen! :o) I too come back hot and sweaty, but good thing no body to impress here, and that my co-worker gets hot/sweaty too!

Jenna - Good job on swimming and good eating choices this weekend, I too swam and jog in the water and love it, it really is a workout. Also it's easier on my knees, I have arthiritis in my knees and walking/running is hard on them, but joggin in water and swimming are not as bad. I'm glad you ate the fish on Sat and that you are feeling better today than you were then! :) Vaccuum - I love mine, I may have the same as yours I think...but ur right about having to empty it a bunch of times! Boo, but I think that is the only bad thing! My brother hasn't heard anything from GR or HK yet, but they said it'd probably be weeks since they have to finish auditions in all the other states etc. GOod job on the walk this morning, glad you beat the rain! Keep up the healthy cooking, sounds like ur doin great!

White cherries - A loves them, but I'm not into cherries, not sure why, cuz I love cherry flavoring, just not actual cherries.

UTR - How fun to go to the water park, and great exercise! I haven't been to one in forever bcuz of how uncomfortable I've been with my body! I can't wait for the day to go to one again! :) I agree with putting picture sin a safe deposit box or something, I also store them on my computer and on kodakgallery.com. I loved Ratatoullie, can't wait to see it again and buy on DVD! Have fun att he movies!

Ok, so Saturday night we went to Mac Grill and I didn't too bad, I got this Tuscan Chicken Pasta with white wine sauce and tomatoes and bell peppers. I ate about half the ckn, all the veggies and only about 5-6 bites of pasta. No idea on cals, but alot better than what I usually get. I had wine, and no idea how bad it is, but it was date night and wasn't going to pass up wine! :) We saw a modern day version of Romeo & Juliet at the local JC, it was 100 times better than I thought it'd be, A really liked it too!

So Sunday, I had good intentions to do well at the race track, but no such luck. Before the track we went to this resturant and i got this carne asada tostada, and I made a point to eat the meat and lettuce/tomatoes, but I know it wasn't that great to eat anyways. And at the track I only had a couple beers, but then I had an ice cream. And then, we went to Pat & Oscars (which is like crappy fast food wanna be italian -i did not pick where to eat) and I got this avacado, feta, & pesto pizza and only had two small pieces (nlike half the size of a regular piece of pizza), and some of my friend's mandarin ckn salad. I actaully think it wasn't that bad, but I know it wasn't 'good.' Anyways, so we got home and I was in the bathroom for like an hour, feeling 'crappy' - yes, pun intended. I went to bed feeling awful. Didn't exercise on Sun or barely drank like 4-5 cups of water. I didn't sleep well, and feel awful today too. Not too much of an appetite cuz I feel like throwing up. And it's about to be TTOM ina  couple days so I'm alllllll emotional and hating it.

On top of all that, I'm frustrated bcuz I know I won't be able to exercise very much this week after work bcuz I have a billion things to do every night this week. And we have a wedding to go to on Sunday and I need to go get a dress and I'm not looking forward to that at all, and not really looking forward to the wedding bcuz of my weight - which is soooooo stupid in my head, but it doesn't change how I'm feeling. Oh well....I need to get over it, I'm not missing the wedding. I have in the past, and I'm not going to do it again.

Hopefully once I go walk later today with my co-worker and drink more water I'll feel better. I don't really see that happening seeing how I'm tearing up as I type, but I'll try. Sorry to dampen the mood. :(
oh, and when I got to work this morning there is a BIG problem, and had to be on the phone with clients (which I despise doing and don't normally do) and they were complaining and yelling etc. Ugh....Happy F-ing Monday!
Hi Olivia, I am Jess, you are thinking the exact same thing as I do.  I love this site for all the wonderful people it is life changing and I am so glad to have meet so many wonderful people who are here for me no matter what.  Not to mention I throw in some motivation here and there too, I hope..haha!

I would love to be a part of this group too if that's ok
ok, ok, trying to be positive (fake it till u make it right?), how thoughtless of me, I meant to tell you Olivia - I loved what you wrote to start this thread (ur right the other one was getting way too long cuz we all talk alot!) - it too, made me tear up. :) Thanks, I couldn't agree more with ur words, and the feelings are right back at ya babe!!

(That goes for jzmtl, abbs, and utr too)
welcome Jess! ( : tell us about you!

the 5 of us, me, abbs, mamabird (joanna), jzmtk (jenna), and undertherainbow (I blanked on your name---help me out--sorry!) have all been burning up the forum chatting our heinies off, so you're more than welcome!  I think my success is mostly due to the awesome time I have here talking! ( :

Sorry work sucks, Jo---Mondays in general suck the big one! (did the problem get resolved?)  And hey---shrug off the weekend! Hoep you had fun and I'm really sorry you felt sick, but just do it better today! =P We love you... ( ;

I want to see Rat Chef movie.  !!

and utr---funny story.... I used to be really tight with a group of girls (who very much remind me of you guys and the fun time we have here).. we all worked at a combo/two sided domestic violence shelter / drug and alcohol rehab, so you get close there, so you don;t kill someone..... anywho---one night we're all sitting around drinking after chinese buffet (imagine) and we start talking we should have a club... the BGC (Big Girl CLub) because we are big and proud and happy or something....  I'll always be a thick chick---I think THAT is more like an attitude, like you are working it no matter what the number on the scale says, but I would really like to be in the FCWAC nowadays (fitter chicks with attitude club) ( ;

And I just posted this in my journal, but I rocked it at the chinese place. I got steamed veggies and shrimp instead of buffet madness. It was so good, I have tons leftover for tonight/tomorrow, and I still got to go where my man wanted and eat with him. ( :

This lifestyle change is all about finding alternatives that work.... Who would have known? =P lol

I;m off to mow the yard--- and avoid heat stroke!
I cried when I wrote it too, jo! I wouldn't be nearly as addicted to cc if it wasn't for you girls and all the laughs!

yay for buds!
Well, lets see, I am just about 28 years old, I am 5'6 always have struggled with my weight, started at 232.8, and I am currently 170.8, so that puts me at a loss of 62 lbs, but I still have another 25.8 lbs to go.

It's so nice to meet all of you!
Thanks Olivia, I will do better today, already have started well, and I'm drinking my water happily! The probelms isn't technically fixed, it's going to be an ongoing one for a bit, but I handed it over the the owner to handle, it was definitely not something I should be handling, it's something him and the client need to work out.

I have always be 100% ok with my curves, big bootie, and being thick - I never want or plan on losing those and being skinny - I just got toooo curvy and chunky! I am no longer going to be proud of where I am, that is a false attitude in my opinion, cuz wouldn't that mean I'm promoting being overweight, not exercising, and eating poorly?? So I'll be proud when I, and all you gals have reached our goal weights and I already am proud of how well we all are changing our habits both with food and exercise!

Great job at Chinese - I'll keep that in mind whenever I may go to the chinese places!

Jess - welcome! Don't take my bad day for how us girls usually talk and motivate, I'm a bad example today! Glad ur here and CONGRATS!!! for the progress you have made and are continuing to make! :)
Oh Mama what a weekend!!  But like the girls all told me when i was feeling crappy, This too shall pass!  Don't you dare miss out on another thing just because of your weight!  You are beautiful inside and out at 100 lbs or 10,000!  Well, at 10,000 you'd be dead but you get my drift!  TTOM is aweful and both Olivia and I helped each other through our last one and we will help you too!  You said you're busy with a million things?  Well you'll probably be on the move a lot running around (like I was this weekend) and burning cals!  And I know being busy really helps me not think about eating so much so I don't snack nearly as much!  Just make sure you take a few mins and take deep breaths (-2 cals for complete inhaling and exhaling my pilates teach tells me!) and relax!

Just a random question as you're in the house business and deal with stuff, our lender American Home Mortages went bankrupt this weekend, does that affect me?  If this has nothing to do with you, disregard questions.  Just thought it might be your bad work morning stuff!

What else, what else?  Feeling good after my looong walk ( 55 mins instead of 40-45, yay!) and Lean Cuisine, and I went for the lasagna, SO good!  But they give me gas and heartburn aweful!  I just take a Tums and I'm fine though.

All this talk of fruit now I want some more!  No groceries in the house today because my parents are coming tomorrow and so they'll take me shopping (and pay the bill!!) for food they want to eat and stuff.  So I'll get lots of fresh fruits and veggies tomorrow!  My mom's also watching her weight (she does Curves too) so she'll help me eat healthy!  And my aunt does WW too so hopefully we can avoid the complete crap like chips and stuff but I do have two recipes I save for guests because they're so so good but totally horrible health wise!!  One is called Monkey Bread.  You chunk up a loaf of frozen bread dough, mix together butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla pudding powder and drizzle it on top.  My mouth just drooled thinking about it!  The other thing is a three cheese bake using monteray jack cheese, cream cheese and one more, can't remember, ham and eggs.  It turns out like a quiche thing and it's awesome!  I should put it in the recipe analyzer and get the exact amount!  Maybe then I'll eat less!!  Anyway, I only make it when we have company so I don't eat the whole thing myself (which I'm ashamed to say I've actually done!!  Just a little here, and a bit there......and it's gone!)

Well, I've done 4/10 on my test and am working on two more.  I should get back to it!  D has his final tomorrow night so wish us both luck!!!!

Tomorrow is weigh in and measurements, eeek!!  I'm nervous but will let you all know how I did!

Smile mama!  And check out my Chocolate forum in the Lounge if you need a reason for a chocolate break :P!
Oh and welcome Jess!  Feel free to check out our old thread "Motivation to run (well jog slowly) instead of walk :P" in the motivational forum for background on us girls, it's where we all met and got started.  It got really long, like 125 posts in just a week, maybe two from the five of us!!  So there's a lot of history on there but welcome and you'll get to know us pretty fast!  And congrats on all the weight you lost, 62 lbs!!  Man!  That's so awesome!  Keep up the great work!
I know you'll do great, mama! ( :  Just remember even though FLo is not your bud--we are! abbs totally dragged me through mine last week--we'll get you through too! I think you expressed that well, jo, talking about how you feel about yourself.... I want to feel sexy, in my clothes and out of them again! ( : And I am proud of us thus far, and can;t wait to have more awesome milestones to celebrate too!

Wowee, miss abss---kicking ass and taking names! I just went out and mowed for an hour and just about fell over when I hit the ac when I came in--- I think that was a super smart idea, turning left and taking a new route. I too have recently found two open public bathrooms for emergency sakes in the last few days. lol

monkey bread is so good, but so bad! lol  Ever thought about doing a lower cal version of your delicious egg bake thingie? Egg beaters (30 cals per "egg" vs. 80 for the real thing) I found canadian bacon/ham for 80 cals for 22 slices!! low fat free cheese (don;t go fat free for company. I can def. tell....), fat free or low fat cream cheese... but seriously.... Plug it into the analyzer and see if you can tweak it. ( : Add a few peppers, onion, and mushrooms for veggies?  I <3 frittatas and quiche..... I went crazy a few weeks ago coming up with a million diff. combos---had them for breakfast for a week. YUM! And I like protein for breakfast. ( :

anywho.....  good luck with the homework and the parents, abbs
Thanks Abbs for the encouragement! :) It will pass so I'll keep beign positive, and won't miss the wedding! I'm cleaning the house tonight and I see that it is in activites so I can log the calories lost doing that! Plus I don't mind cleaning, it's kinda theraputic plus my house looks great afterwards! We are having friends over for dinner tomorrow night, hence the cleaning.

As for AHM going BK. It shouldn't affect you other than your loan being sold to another lender. I do deal with that stuff and work with millions of lenders. Business is horrible right now, that's the reason i'm so bored at wk and have time for CC! :) I'm sure you'll be getting info in the mail about who will now be servicing your loan. AHM may also have something on their website or cust svc #. Good luck, let me know if you have any other ques/probs, maybe I could help somehow. That isn't my prob from today, but yes it's a prob in general.

That's nicce ur parents will buy groceries. I'm going to the store tonight for stuff tomorrow night. Since it's at my house this month, I got to pick the food we eat. I'm BBQing chicken, and making others bring corn on the cob, beans and a salad. SOmeone is bringing dessert, but I'll make sure to have alternatives for me. Plus I told them not to bring soda, that I'll have tea, water and lemonade! :) Money Bread = sooo good! I haven't had that in forever, but my mom used to make it.

Good job on ur test, keep up the good work!
I still can't believe you mow the lawn Olivia...crazy. LOL I guess it's cuz I've always had brothers to do it, and in my townhome I don't have grass! Maybe one day I'll do it. Make sure to stay hydrated.

Thanks for words, they are helping me! I'm going to go heat up my lean cuisine and feel even better with a full tummy.

Ur quiche ideas sound great i love quiche too! I love eggs in general. Mmm. I want eggs now. :)
Hey ladies... remember olivia.. you and this website changed your life!

Glad we're all here... and will be VERY glad when we can't be extra thick chicks ANYMORE!
My brother just called, and he got a call from HK's today!!!

They interviewed him a week ago, and videotaped him part of the time. They liked him, and asked him to move on to the next level, the back ground ck. Hopefully it all goes well.

He wasn't sure when that part would be done! Hopefully soon! :)
How exciting mamabird!!!!  I couldn't deal with all the yelling, but my husband and I are GLUED to the tv every Monday!
Do I have to go to the gym today? *lol*... I always tell my students they don't HAVE to do ANYTHING except die..

Just an interesting little workout aside...

I went to the gym for a REALLY long time today... worked out moderately... about 65 to 75% of my heart rate for about two hours and burned 1000 calories according to my Polar monitor.

Luckily for me, I like the gym and had a good time... so it wasn't that big of a deal... but are there days that I think about skipping it.

So, I got home and was about to get in the shower and got curious.. "Hmmm... how much would I normally burn in two hours?"  SO, i left the heart rate monitor on...  I took a shower, ate lunch, cleaned the living room, did the dishes.. did the laundry, took the dog outside and stayed  active for two hours...burned 144 calories

Then, for the last hour... (not two this time... but you get the picture)... I watched TV... stayed on here...  got sedentary...burned 56 calories.

So, for me, I'm not thinking about skipping the gym anytime soon!
edited to express my sheer delight at your brother's success thus far and to send good vibes out that he makes it onward and upward!!! How freaking cool would that be -->>???? ( :

mama jo, lol -- I know, I know....he should take the trash out too, but he doesn't.... I was single for a long time between my butthole ex and John, so I got pretty self sufficient ! (synonym: see stubborn, bullheaded, way too independent for my own good)  I carry in all the WalMart bags at  the same time----the first time he saw me do this, he was floored. I mow, I do trash unless I literally can not lift the bag---I even cleaned out our spider-y garage the other day (He hates spiders---they gross me out, but I'm ok--but we have brown recluses! YUCK) ....We had been storing all these boxes there, thinking we'd reuse them to move/pack, but termites had gotten them! Double, serious, dis-GUSTING -- I think they got wet first somehow as the very bottom moxes disintegrated when I went to move them-bleh-- but anyway---yeah, I worked my buttocks off and logged it all as exercise. J noticed I've been vaccuming more too--loo, how funny is that? But it all counts as exercise, and even if I don;t log all of it, I still feel the minutes in my head.

tamara ( :

What kind of teaching do you do? I'm high school English, despite any typos you may see (there are lots---my hands don;t type as fast as I talk in my head!)

You look great--I wouldn't have recognized you! But yeah, do go to the gym! ( : Don't you always feel pumped after you work out??? I am an adrenaline junkie I think----is there a 12 step program for that? ( ;    It is, of course, ok to skip sometimes like I was saying----there are LOTS of really productive ways to get a ton of exercise without ever hitting the gym!! That said, I'm envious. If I coudl pay for the Y and not have to drive 20 minutes to it, I;d be there with bells on. ( :
