XTC2 (Ex-Thick-Chick Club)
This website changed my life. ( : Sounds overly dramatic, but it is true. I hope to look back a year or so from now and think, "I am forever grateful......" Anywho, I think my favorite part of cc, aside from all the great educational information, is the overwhelming support and friendship I've found here. I guess most of my life I've only trusted and truly befriended a handful of unique women---I hold my friends in the highest regard and do not take camraderie lightly. The women I have met here are seriously my spiritual twins! I always felt very alone in my weight loss journey----no more!
That said, I think my cc girls, and you know who you are, are the best! ( : My buddies, my pals, my soul sisters =P Chat away to motivate yourself and others! ( ;

Good morning ladies! Wow, there must have been a lot of chatting on the forums this weekend because we were on page FIVE today! And Peanut posted on Saturday night! Wow, for a minute I thought they deleted our thread but I finally found it!
Daizy~ Yeah P90X is insanely time consuming but SO good. I think you'll get the best results if you follow it but of course life happens (as you saw with us) and it's very difficult. Just make sure to get the three muscle groups (chest/back, abs/arms and legs) and then I highly recomend the Kempo (kickboxing) workout. I hated the plyometrics workout and wasn't a huge fan of the yoga workout (1.5 hours!!). All muscle dvd's have a 15 min ab workout after them so be prepared for that, 1 hour of working out + 15 mins of ab ripper. But I do recommend the recovery drink, it's excellent actually!! And I'm insanely picky! Their protein bars are only ok and we didn't try the vitamins or anything else. Good luck with it, hope your knee is finally healing!
Peanut~ I hope you're feeling better finally! It must be so heartbreaking not to be able to hold P!! But once you're better I'm sure you'll smother him with love! Good luck getting him the vaccine!
Page 5? Geez! That must have been a pain to find! I usually just go through my profile page since I don't post much in the forums - it makes it easy to find you all! LOL
PEANUT ~ That is CRAZY about Parker not receiving the vaccine ASAP. He's in the high priority catagory (as I understand the CDC recommendations and as they are being handled in this State) and should have had access to it already or this week. Our State received it's X number of doses and it has been shipped out to doctors/clinics who signed up for it. I cannot imagine why his doctor couldn't refer him to another doc that has it already. Weird set-up by the public health folks out there. I'm sorry! I hope you can get it for him soon.
And I'm glad you are feeling better! I do know what you mean by unbendy scabs! That's where I'm at right now.
RING ~ I just don't think I have the time to do P90X the way he has it set up. I'm going to try, but I am not sure I'll get it in that many days in a row. I am running at lunchtime now, so I should have time when I get home, but man, 1.5 hours a day is a lot....especially after I'll have run in the afternoon. So we'll see. I suppose I'll get the three weights days in, but maybe not the Kempo, plyo and yoga....If I do get that much in and I don't lose this last round of weight, NOTHING is going to take it off me! LOL
bah! it just ate my entry. and i am wearing glasses so I cannot see a thing. arg.
I also go thru my profile, i don't like going into the forums, too many scary people.
Daizy- i thought it was crazy too. I mean, there is a reason why high risk people get priority, but if your dr doesn't have them in yet, you can only get them at free clinics, and there are so many sick people standing in line it really isn't worth it. Luckily my bro in law found a free clinic that isn't getting any one in there, so d and Parker both got the vaccine for free in like 10 min.,
Abbs- how is D doing? I still feel so bad about his uncle, plus everything you've been going thru!
I am feeling better. the dr put me on a z pack and i am feeling so much better- i can breath a lot more easily, yay. I just have to be careful not to overdo, because this flu really makes you tired for a while. so i'll feel fine and start to clean or something (d and parker have had the run of the house for almost a week, eeek!) and then bam, I can barely stand up. LOL
Hey there! The only forum I really even look at is The Lounge occasionally when I'm bored but I rarely post, usually just read the stupid topics and silly replies! Occasionally they're entertaining.
Daizy~ I asked D when he wanted to start exercising again and he said soon but last night he begged for ice cream and I caved and made him cookies and cream icecream (using double stuffs!). So of course I had a handful of double stuffs myself but no icecream, no wasting my cals on silly filler when all I'm in it for is the cookie chunks! I'd rather go straight to the source for my cals!
Peanut~ SO glad P and D got the shots! Are you going to get one too or is it a moot point now that you've had it? I'm not sure how this disease works.
My funk today is lifting slightly. I just spen over an hour on bluemountain.com sending funn e-cards to D! Hope one of them makes him smile.
Oh, tomorrow I'm going to try and make homemade chicken and dumplings! I found a really yummy sounding recipe online. I need to go to the store for a few last min things like herbs so they're fresh for this weekend's cooking palooza!! Here's the Saturday t-day menu:
sweet onion tartlets
spinache artichoke dip
Turkey (duh) with sage and fresh herb butter
Mashed potatoes and gravy made with turkey drippings
scalloped corn
broccoli casserole (D's mom is making)
asparagus if it's fresh
corn bread stuffing (trying homemade corn bread)
home made bread
pumpkin pie (D's mom is making)
baklava
sweet dough wreath
egg nog
So I need something with color. I'm considering something cranberry but I don't think anyone really likes anything cranberry and I'm worried something will spill on my white lace tabelcloth (I'm cool with anything except spilled cranberry juice!).
