looking at other girls around me, and friends, who r my height, around my size (waist, hips, thighs, boobs, and such) i get confused about y i weigh so much.

im 16, 5'3", thin, work out everyday, so im fairly toned, and eat well, and ppl tell me i am thin, yet i weigh 120-122 lbs. so y do these girls who look exactly like my frame weigh around 105?? it makes me think i am so heavy and stocky.

you probably have bigger bones!, im the same way! big bones dont meen fat, it just means your bones are bigger then others, meening they weigh more, also if you work out a lot, you probably have muscle ... that weighds more too, but it is also better then fat, so dont go by just the scale

Well, it could be the fact that you have some muscle, and they don't.

Or maybe they're lying about their weight.

Perhaps your scale is 'off'.

It's just a number. If you're healthy and lean, why does it matter so much what your number is compared to someone else your size?

sorry i didnt mean to snd that twice

ok yes the bone thing makes sense cuz ive done the test thing where u wrap your pointer finger and thumb around your wrist to c if u r small, med, or large boned, and my fingers dont touch, theres like an inch distance between them!

im not worried or concerned about this kaybug, =), i was just curious. ;-)

I've come to the conclusion that i am dense boned lol, wither that or more muscular! me and my running partner, both 21, 5'4 same clothes size and about the same fitness level... she weighs 126 and im 144.... go figure!!

Your friends are lying, or you just have a more muscular build, like me. It sounds like you are large-framed, too. Don't worry about the number, it's just a number. You are at a healthy weight and you look great!

Muscle weighs more than fat. If you are toned, and they are not, well you are not bigger than they are, you have more muscle so the scale will say more. Scales are not a good indicator of fat percentage. Be proud of that 12o-122 because it means you're in better shapeLaughing

Honestly...who cares what the scale says! If you LOOK the same as those other girls why are you worried? I don't even bother weighing myself anymore, as long as I get to where I feel comfortable with myself and know I'm at a healthy weight for my height then who cares!?

Agreed. For a long while I used to think if I weighed little it meant "good", so when I started seeing higher numbers I would get really depressed, though in REALITY my body had not changed much except gotten a little firmer. But I was still in a numbers-based mindset. I just got to the point where I'm like..."who cares what the scale says, I look good, and my clothes fit, and THAT is what matters".

thx virgell. =)

and yes i guess i forgot to figure inthat muscle weighs more than fat. most girls my age are skinny fat. i much prefer working out andhaving muscle instead of fat. =)
