What do y'all think about the ab lounger?

Quote  |  Reply
So I want to buy this thing, but I've only heard in real life, a few people's opinion on it.  So I want to know if you have used it before, and how you've noticed a difference.  Does it really work?

I think.... it is a waste of money.

A good friend of mine bought one.  She was on it, literally, 45 minutes a day... and got NOTHING!

I have tried it a couple different times in stores and all I could think was, boy, that's a joke.

If you want to work your abs and core muscles, get on the floor and do an ab workout (there are a ton of them online) or... alternately... get an exercise ball.  That's what I did because my knee didn't like getting up and down from the floor.  The exercise ball is awesome for all of your core muscles and with a lot less effort you can see some decent changes.

The ab-lounger is like any other "toy". If you follow the manufacturer's directions, use proper form and technique, you will get results. I use mine 2-3 times a week. I found that I will use the ab-lounger but can't stay with a regular crunch regimen. Used properly you should get the same results as crunches on the floor. If you are looking for "ripped" abs in 10 days, it just isn't going to happen.
haha! Thanks to you both for you replies!  I'm not going to buy it now...I'm continue to use my good ol' floor! =)
I have one and I love it!  My 60 year old mother in law liked it too and bought one.   She used it daily for 6 weeks, and got the line down her stomache and she was so proud of that right before she went to jamaica.  However its bulky and doesnt store very well.  Why not try going over to Sears in the fitness department and hop on a pre-assembled one.  Do about 50 reps  (5 wont cut it)  and see for yourself if its right for you.  Sears is the only place ive seen them assembled to try out.   ;)

I have one, and I say save your money!  I am going to be selling mine on Craigslist because now it just sits and takes up space.

I tried doing it for 30-35 minutes 5 days a week, and I got nothing.  I watched the instructional DVD before I used it and followed all of the instructions and still got no results.  I second getting the exercise ball.  There are tons of different exercises you can do on that, and I've seen better results with that than I did my AB Lounge for sure.

Thanks! I think by y'all's responses, that I won't get one....
