I lost 10 lbs, 10lbs to go!! I am 5'8", 21 years old and now weigh 159 lbs!! I started out CC weighing 169 lbs in November. I have had some set backs, and it really took a long time for me to lose those ten lbs; however, I think the most important thing I've learned from CC and coming to the forums and reading the nutritionist's daily advice is that I've learned how to eat
! I really and truly have! So, hopefully I can make my goal weight of 149 by may (when I'm supposed to). I'm just happy I lost ten lbs! I can't believe it!!!
Congrats, keep up the good work!
Congrats! You should find that the ten pounds you have lost will motivate you even more to lose the last ten. This truly is about lifestyle changes, the hope being that even when we all get to our goal weight (and we all will) we will be able to maintain it with the things we have learned while losing it in the first place.
Yaaay that is awesome!!! im happy for u =D!
It is so nice to hear someone excited about losing 10lbs in four months as opposed to someone else bitching that they only lost 10lbs in one month.
Way to go!!! Keep it up!
Hey! We're the same height and age and similar in weight-- it looks like my start and goal weights are only five pounds under yours. It would be neat to be CC friends, if you'd be so inclined.
That is fantastic! Congratulations and continued luck in the remaining part of your journey!
Hey! I am 20years old and 5'8 started out at 175 and am now at 165. I am headed to the beach at the end of the month so this month I am really pushing it!
Have any tips?
What I have found works great for me is cutting carbs and I work out to cathe friedrich every day on Fit TV. If you have not seen Cathe I recomend it to everyone. It is HARD but it works!
Go pick up a 10lb bag of potatoes - it will make you feel even more proud about the weight you've lost!!!! It's HUGE!
Fabulous! Keep on truckin! You're going at a great pace - especially since you've learned how to eat along the way too! HURRAY!
Hahah just remember she JUST said "pick up" dont eat it or ull get those 10lb bak in ur belly hehe =D=D=D!

I don't really have any brilliant suggestions. One of the big things that was bringing me down were deserts. I gave them up for two weeks and it's just not the same anymore. I don't crave them, and when I do have something superindulgent I find that I can't really appreciate it as much as I can appreciate a granola and dried fruit bar. Exercise is important (for muscle development and tonenesss) but it's not everything, really watching what I ate was really the key for me. Try different things and see what works for you!
What really was the key for me was not giving up! Even if I had major set backs I just started my calorie count the next day like nothing happened.
But Thank you everybody for your support and your replys! CC is the best! and the forums here are definitely one of the most informative, mature, encouraging, and just plain helpful forums on the internet!
Wow. Reading about your progress was like reading about mine. I am 5'9". I have lost 8 pounds since Nov. 1 when I weighed 165. My goal weight is 149 too! It has felt kind of slow compared to how much some of the members of my groups on PeerTrainer have lost in that same time. But, like you, I just keep returning to my calorie counting and try to re-commit after I mess up. And there were a lot of bad days this past month. And I have picked up that ten pound bag of potatoes more than once!! I wish you all the best in meeting your goals.
&nb sp; Hello medea this dac250 I read your posting sounds like me if I read it right, my weight gain before I ever started countin my calories was 216 and by some miracl I got down to 207 which excited me to death. but now it seems I am stuck. My weight fluxuates from 194 to 197 and it has been staying like this or 2 weeks and I am counting my calories sometimes i dont even reach the 1900 mark tht I am to stay on so by dec. (Hopefully) I real have reached my goal to be down to 155. Like pionhands said I guess I will just commit to do better. dac250 Newest Member.

Thats what I was also going to say! lol!
Its a huge amount of weight that you have lost, I can imagine that you must feel like youre walking on air at the moment! Physically and mentally!
I really like the fact that even with some dips in the process you just picked yourself right back up again! That is wonderful and that takes real inner strength, so I guess one could say that youre even becoming a better and a stronger person through out all of this! Thumbs up!!!
So much good luck on reaching your goal!

Congrats!!
I just started at the gym yesterday. I can't stay motivated and I get too comfortable at home to workout on my own.
It's good to hear weight loss stories from people around my age. I'm 5'5, between 175-180 lbs. I want to lose 40-50 pounds by November.
I have been watching my caloric intake so far but I need exercise to compliment my eating habits. Even still I have a hard time staying away from fast food. It's everywhere and the smell is what drives me to it. I need more will power. Today I've done great so far. 2 doughnuts, 1 banana, 12 ounces of 2% milk and a bottle of water for breakfast.
--Edited because I read the answer to my question so I took it out.--
Congrats again. I'm looking forward to my weight loss as well.
Hi! I am the newest member of cc dac250 think I can be of some help those 2 doughnuts you just consummed had close to 250 calories a piece, doughnuts was what got me where I was at my starting weight at 216 along with the fast foods. To tell you the truth I didn't think I was fat untill I watches a program and saw "ME"and than I took a really good look at myself in the mirror that was my turning point my what you would say WAKE_UP call my chorlestrol was 400and should I have stayed on the eatting redgimon I was on I was looking for real problems down the road. I hate working out I hate getting all sweatty,YULK but I make myself do it. I am not what you would call a self-motivated person either but my budduies on line that are in the same spot as I am struggling wanting what they want and we encourage each other, this is where my motivation comes in at, if I fail that week I go to my team they tell me ok, that was today but you can get up off the couch put that potatoe chip bag down and start "KICKING BUTT" right now. As of last week I am now down to 193 and no more chorlestrol medication, my Dr. said the change in my eatting habbiys as well as excercise is what made the difference I hope I helped dac250 ( HEY< I AM NOT A PREACHER) LOL!!!! Good Luck.
Dear h h just watch your calories, that is what will get you if you go over your caloric intake for the day. Work-out is good but watching calories also go hand in hand. dac 250.
