i took yaz for about 2 months. It was my first BC pill, and the experience was horrible. 1. it made me break out, 2. i bled for 4 weeks straight and when that finally subsided my period started again about a week later. 3. i was tired all the time and just felt icky.
I stopped taking it in february and havent had a period since. The lack of the period thing is most likely due to a decrease in weight and starting an exercise routine though.
I'm on a hormone to induce my period right now and when it starts i'm going to start taking ortho tri-cyclin LO which is supposed to be more natural since the hormone dosages vary throughout the cycle.

I've been taking Yaz for about a year (almost as long as it's been out) and have had a good experience with it.
I don't know about all those claims my doctor was telling me about how it'd help me lose water weight -- cuz I felt just as bloated as I always do -- but it does help stop my skin from breaking out, it regulates my periods and lightens my "flow", and it keeps my other hormone-related problems under control.
It's the best pill on the market FOR ME, which is an important distinction. I have a friend who couldn't take it. There are many other brands I can't handle.
Of course, your mileage my vary, and I would discuss this change with your doctor to make sure it's what's best for you. :)

I took Yas for about 3 months, when it was still called Yasmine, and had good experience with it. I didn't lose any weight, but I didn't gain with it either { I'm now taking lo-ovral 28 - switched because I don't have insurance-and gained when I switched, and the weight has stayed}, and I wasn't as moody or crampy. I did notice a lighter flow as well...the BC {lo-Ovral 28}I'm taking now has helped with the cramping, and with flow, but I'm just as moody :(
I took Yaz for a month. Made me feel horrible. My heart rate would go up for any small amount of exercise I did. I had to discontinue my kickboxing and step classes.
Then I talked to my doctor again and she made me switch to Yasmin. I have been taking it for more than 6 months now. For the first 3 months I used to feel nauseated then I realized that if I take it in night, no side effects.

is Yaz the same thing as Yasmin?
Yaz cleared my skin really nicely.
