YEE - HAW! 2 down, taking a bow

Quote  |  Reply
I stumbled in here 10 days ago looking for a miracle and doubting that I'd ever lose a single pound eating as much food as my stats said I should eat, but I read a post that said "yes you can" so I gave it a try.  After 7 days I had gained 2 1/2 pounds, but I read a post that said "hang in there, and it will happen for you".This gave me the encouragement I needed to "hang in there".Today, the 10th day my scales said down 2 pounds. To all of you who have posted in any of the forums on this site, I want to say thank you so much.  I've read dozens of them, and there's no way to tell you how important they've been to me.Maybe 2 pounds doesn't sound like much to most of you, but to me it sounds like a reason to keep on learning to eat better, feel better and find the thin me that has been lost for so long. The 2 pounds is for me, but the bow is for you.  I wonder if you guys have any idea the effect your postings have on a newcomer.  It's tremendous. Thanks so much.sstnkyfeet

That's really nice to hear! You hung in there and ended up down 2 lbs. Keep up the good work :)
congrats! I love your post b/c too many of us get hung up on losing a large number of pounds but we have to remember that every pound gets us that much closer toour goals. keep it up!
Thank you both for the congrats.  One life lesson I learned the hard way is fat that I take off quickly comes back even quicker.  Now I'm learning to do it slowly and learn to eat differently so it will stay off.
::claps wildly for qaowk::

Thanks for relaying your experience - it can be easy to become discouraged with the weight games our body can play but youre a testament to hang in there.  Yeah for you!!
That is absolutely fantastic.  The feeling you get each time you get on the scale and realize that you have lost a few pounds can work wonders.  Keep it up and don't let yourself get discouraged, you've already found that if you hang in there it will happen for you.  Great Job...
Qa: anyone that starts a post with 'Yee Haw' is immediately a friend of mine. Consider yourself 'friended'. :D

Good job, girl! Hang in there.

same thing happened to me, I gain 4lbs at first and I was desperate, didnt know what to do but all the post here kept me motivated to continue my new and healthy life style. I guess after so many years of yo-yo dieting I can finally say that I found the way. Counting calories does work, I was a non believer of (eating right + exercise = weight loss) I CAN SAY IT NOW, if you follow that you will lose weight.

oh this morning i got on my scales and im down 3.6lbs, i got on it 3 times to make sure it was right, i almost cry, this is the first time in my life that i have lost weight without  a magic pill and im sure that this time the weight will not come back.

Thank you so much CC and all of you here my new friends.

I love reading all these encouraging "hang in there" stories because it gives me hope. Thanks so much for sharing your frustration and success. You may be a newcomer yourself but you sure have had an effect on me.

Thank you!

awww! see what I mean?  You guys are all so nice.    How can I fail with such a cool cheering squad to back me up?

Thank 'ya  thank 'ya  thank 'ya

Slow and steady wins the race! Nowhere is this more true than in weight loss.

Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Yes, "Steady as She Goes" is kind of my mantra.  One day at a time and focus.  I think you and I joined on the same date.  I have also lost 2 lbs and will weigh myself again on Sunday.

Keep Going!!!!!

Wooo Hooo! Congrats! That is awesome and keep with it! I love seeing results.

Yeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaw You! Congrats. I really liked hearing that you hung in there....I want toremember this for when my turn comes.

Thanks for sharing.

That is sooooo awesome!!

I'm a newcomer too and I agree completely with what you said... During my first week in US I lost 4 lbs. Then I started gaining... I just gained 2lbs, but during the last couple of years (still in Brazil) I've gained around 15lbs... Here (in US) I was always fluctuating +- 2lbs. I was becoming so frustrated... I want to lose all of these pounds!!

Then I found this site... and since I've started counting calories, I've lost 2lbs and didn't gain any! I'm so happy... this posts, and journals, and forums help soooo much!

So... Yee Haw to you and to all of us!!!

yeah!! good job!

i stumbled across this doing a search on google and wow this site is amazing and its FREE... i have never had this much support... good luck with the journey :)
