After the weird 2-month gaining period I went through, in which I was eating 100 calories over my maintenance and somehow gained 25 pounds, I decided to up my intake to AT LEAST 1800.. and in one week, I've already lost 5 pounds.

I never thought it would be possible even though I've been through this before.. but I guess you all [everyone who told me I should be eating more] were right.

And that goes for ALL teenagers--concentrate on nourishing your body and feeding it properly instead of punishing it through heavy restriction.

geeeeeeeeeez i need to make myself get there but i'm so scared... can someone post a 1800 cal day so i can see it!!!!!!

ahh, i hate ED, i need to get there, geez, i need to get to 1400!!!  1800 is deff at least what a normal healthy adult woman should be able to live on-w/o excercise!

omg omg omg.

I ate 1600-1800cal for over a week...

and I got on the scale yesterday and held my breath awaiting to see a jump in the scale of 1-2lbs... but guess what! I went from 106 to 105lbs!!

I eat about 6 small meal/snacks a day spaced out about 2-4 hours between each... usually I try to get most of my calories in during the morning so my breakfast and mid morning snack are most of the time the largest meals of the day 300-500cal or so, and then they get smaller as the day goes on, this is good for your metabolism since it "breaks the fast" and gives your body the entire day to use up those calories, instead of eating the majority at night.

Just add a few snacks at around 50-100 calories each to adjust it to what your calorie intake is.

hi everyone, MALIBU-good luck!  keep me posted, im currently on 1300 cals, want to get to 1450on FRI.  eventually i assume i should be able to maintain on 1800ish being only lightly active and want to get there, but i didn't like the calorie breakdown given in that plan, i don't want just a sandwich for lunch, ya know?  lol, good luck and keep me updated!

This doesnt seem to be working for me =( Ive eaten about 1600-1800 for a week and Ive gained even more weight! Should I restrict again, or hang in there? My metabolis must be really screwy ... Ah well, I suppose all I can do is keep trying ... I hope I start to see a loss soon!

ur body needs longer than that to adjust, in my opinion. NO U SHOULDN'T RESTRICT. starving sucks :P

and, when ur metabolism revvs back up, u can lose the extra few pounds HEALTHILY.
