Yet-another-period-question...
As the title reads, this is yet another period question : )
So I had lost my period for a few months due to restricting and over-exercising. After getting serious about recovering, I got my period (less than a month ago) for about 3-4 days, medium flow (not too light, not heavy).
So the 28-day mark is approaching and I'm not getting any...signs. Not really much/any discharge, cramps, bloating (save for increasing) or anything.
My question is, for those who managed to regain their periods, is it normal for the period to be quite irregular during early stages of regaining it? My period was never terribly regular, but it would come approximately once a month (give or take a week-10 days). So is it like, re-regulating in there or something? I'm just frustrated and hope I'm not screwing myself up again.
I'd appreciate your feedback : )
There's a saying 'one swallow does not a summer make' and, in a similar vein, 'one period does not a recovery make'. You should really talk to your doctor about this, especially if you skip again this month. You don't look well in that photograph (if that's you) and maybe there's more you need to be doing...
for the past year and half this kept happening to me.. i would get my period once every few months but it was extremely light and only lasted a couple of days. i finally broke down a few weeks ago and went to the doctor. she put me on hormones for a week (essentially it was a week's worth of birth control), and this caused me to have a period the following week. it was still very minimal compared to what my flow was like before i lost it, but it was something. so now i have to wait until next month, and if i don't get my period on my own, it's back to the doctor for blood tests, etc.
long story, short: please go see your doctor. i feel like i waited wayyy too long. and good luck with everything! <3

YES. After gaining 15 pounds recovering from anorexia, I got my first period in almost two years in January, and the second in June (one day short of 5 months later). I used to have a heavy 8-day period (which was terrible!) and the two I've gotten were light 4-day ones. Try to reach/maintain a healthy weight, and eventually you'll get another period.
If you are still struggling with an eating disorder, I highly recommend seeing a doctor. I would have never recovered without medical support. Usually people can't do it on their own. At least tell a family member you can trust. Good luck with your period and being healthy :)

Thanks very much for the insight. It makes me feel a bit better :)
