Yikes! The analysis graphic changed!
What happened to the analysis graphic? It's suddenly gotten mirrored and turned upside down. I logged yesterday's intake and hit the analysis button and had to do a double take. My quick visual glance turned into an analysis of the analysis. Who's in charge of human factors, there? Don't change stuff like that.
Yeah, I dont like it. It's sideways! It's harder to visualize the percents when its sideways like that. Please change it back!
but the new weight log graph is BEAUTIFUL!
My analysis chart looks exactly the same. The weight chart has a new clean design though. I wonder if it will change if I log off then log back in?
edited to add: Yep, that's what happened. I like it! I don't find it hard to read but then I always look to the right and get the percentages from the list. It's not much of a change but looks nicer.
You young folks need to learn to roll with the changes like us old ladies do.
is it awful that I didn't even notice. I looked at it and thought oh that looks sorta different, but i never would have realized if somone didn't say it. Sometimes 2d is better than 3d
I noticed, and I can't say I like it either.
haha, I look at mine and thought "Woah!, What happened to my fat?"...and then realised it was green, and green means carbs, which get a much larger percentage than fats...
And the weight graph looks like it was made using the new Microsoft Office, those graphs are indeed always prettier....
I like the new analysis, can't say I like the weight chart as much though. It looks cleaner but you can't see the individual days and weight in detail as the last one, at least on mine.
the weight log doesnt look any different to me.... and i barely noticed the food analysis change!
I'm also not a fan! Really bugs me. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but it tricks my brain cause I'm used to looking at my ratios flipped.
come on, whose idea was it to use foreshortening on an information graph? LOL
man, i really dont like the new pie graph either, it really p***ed me off this morning. i gues its good that at least some of you like it, i wish there was an option to change it back though for those of us that dont like it.

I'm with you on the weight graph. I was tracking monthly spikes, but now I'm being shown a chart with 4 month increments, which makes it absolutely useless to me. I know I've been gradually losing weight, I want to see its weekly/monthly pattern, not the big picture. The 3D pie chart also throws me off in terms of proportions. It's a pie chart, for pete's sake, not artwork. I'm not here for pretty graphics, but informing tools.
I also wish there were an option to choose the old or new graphics.
I've not heard anything from anybody as to why these changes (weight and analysis graphs) were made, but I'm hoping that somebody who actually works on the web site will explain why they broke something that was working perfectly well, yet can't seem to get around implementing changes that were promised almost two years ago (yes, I spent a lot of time wading through the forum archives).
And I know this is off topic, but what's with the requirement to enter a journal title?
I don't see anything different, but I think I like the new weight log (it just looks funny to me so far).
Here's the latest update for anybody that cares: I emailed the site support people earlier this week regarding the problems that people are raising about the new graphics and have yet to hear anything back. Now, I realize this is a free site and a lot of volunteers provide their time to offer diet suggestions and user support, so I don't have an issue waiting for responses to those kinds of questions. However, the programming isn't done by volunteers (as far as I know - I know for all the websites my company owns, we wouldn't have volunteers coding), so I'm wondering how much attention is actually paid to users' complaints. This issue isn't the first I've raised regarding odd web site behavior, either (such as boneless, skinless chicken breast being assigned a D-minus). I don't seem to get answers to any of those, either.
Usually, issues sent in via the contact link are either acted upon or responded to in a fairly quick manner.
As you can tell, they seem to be doing a lot of "enhancements" to the site (unfortunately, I'm not a fan of them either), so they are probably quite busy. Also -- check your spam file, often responses to me end up in my spam file instead of new mail (cannot even tell you why that would happen).

From my experience, "usually" means practically never. I say "practically" because I did once get an email saying they would look into a question I had.

Checked the spam bin - nada.
Thanks for your feedback concerning the new charts - we're working on addressing your complaints and apologize for the inconvenience.
The current graphing system is an incremental step towards our goal of providing much more advanced charting capabilities for this site. Eventually, we hope to allow you to dynamically interact with these charts, zooming in/out, hovering over points, and giving you the option of plotting and analyzing more data. We replaced a charting system that had been in place for nearly 4 years and know there will be some kinks in working out this process - please accept our apologies while we're in transition.
Please feel free to get in touch with me directly, either by PM or email at erik@calorie-count.com
Thanks!

Thanks - I appreciate the response. As you can tell by the discussion, I'm sure many others might also.

Where can I see 1/8th or 1/6th of a pie or angel food cake?
