Yikes! This has to be wrong right?!
I was then on the Maximuscle webite, as I use a few of their products, when I came across this page. If you click on the calorie counter tool on this page it opens up a pop - up box. insert you details and let me know if your results were as shocking as mine! Apparantly my daily calorie allowance is 995! I cannot believe a website would reccomend that!

I guessed at my waist circumference, but got 1660, which is pretty much on par with this site.

This site has to be totally wrong. It told me I should be eating 983 calories a day. ....Thats how many I probably normally eat anyway-but even I know thats not right.
I dont suggest taking their advice or using their cal calculator...
It gave me a figure in the ball park of what I should be eating. Are you sure you entered everything in correctly? There might be a bug in their software depending on which options you choose. *shrug

It suggested 1760 for me, so pretty much spot on. Did you adjust the lbs per week you would like to lose? If you left the 2 per week that it prefills with, but you are already pretty close to your ideal weight, that could be why it gave you such a low #. Change it to a more reasonable 1/2 lb per week. Only severely overweight people can lose 2lbs a week safely.
It told me that I should be eating about the right amount, but for maintnance... Not to lose weight. I need to lose! I think it has to do with the waist measurement part... Based on my waist measurement, and my weight, it came up with a body fat percentage that is SO far off of every other BMI calculator that I've ever seen. More than 20% off.
It never asked my height or age? Says I should be eating 2500 cals a day and drinking 4.1 liters of water!
It tells me I need to eat 2600 to lose 2 pounds a week....that seems a tad excessive. CC says I need 2200 to maintain.

I got 2000 cals and 3.2L of water a day. Sounds nice.....but I won't lose 2 lb a week with that, I've tried.
I think it's a bit warped...maybe it just generates random numbers?
It told me to eat 2278 cals. per day to lose 2 lbs per week which is a little higher than what CC says.

this site is definatley wrong.
For me to lose one pound a week, it told me to eat 1480 calories and 93 grams of protein, along with 2 liters of water a day.
Sounds about right.

it told me to eat 1100, and freakin' 148 grams of protein a day. I get 90 a day maybe. Am I really supposed to have that much?
It gave me 1837, which is my target anyways. :/ It did suggest 180g of protein a day. Dunno where that came from, but with my average being 40g, I don't think it's gonna happen.
Oh, and am I missing the part where you give your height, and how much you want to lose? Otherwise it's just a random number.
Wow! You're right, this is insane! This website told me to eat 714 calories per day! That's awful...I wonder if the fact that I don't use any of their products has an affect on what they predict.
