Yoga what's your take?
I know that to lose weight I need to become more active, the only exersise that I've found that I enjoy is yoga. I have a DVD: Yoga conditioning for weight loss with Suzanne Deason. What's your take on yoga? What else could/should I do with yoga?
There is no physical benefit of which yoga is the best method of obtaining (other than being good at yoga). If you want to win the yoga olympics then do yoga, if you really like yoga then do it, if you want to lose weight, get stronger, get more 'toned', improve your balance, get more flexible/mobile there are more efficient ways of doing so.
I think yoga is a great addition to a comprehensive workout routine. I think doing it in combination with cardio, interval training, and stregth training creates a really balanced routine with enough variety that you don't get bored. I do yoga once a week and really love it!
As far as doing it for weight loss, as melkor said , diet is key. If you eat more than you burn and do yoga you will not lose weight. If you eat less than you burn and do yoga you will lose weight.
madonna does yoga to saty fit, and she looks young, yoga is great, you can add cardio 3x a week for at least 20 min, to condition your heart, it also depends on your goals~erica

Madonna does quite a number of other things to look the way she does - never believe what People or Us magazines say when it comes to celebrities workout routines.
I agree with all the people who are saying yoga is a compliment to cardio and weight training - not a replacement. :) However, I'm sure you realize this, so if you like yoga then keep doing it!
I used to go to a yoga class once a week (but the teacher left, and I didnt like the new person), and I really liked it. I found an hour of yoga harder than going for a 6 mile run. :P
