I am only 21 and weigh 226 and have been looking to find people closer to my age for support. Is there anyone else who has to balance work and school and weight loss and excercise. I feel like I'm going crazy. I am busy and it's really hard to find time for all of this. I'm working hard though and could really use the extra support and motivation to keep going.

Welcome,

I'm 21 as well and juggling all the same things as you, however i've almost reached my goal weight of 125 :D but if you need support dont hesitate to messgae me

remember You CAN do it
Me! I am 21 years old too, i work 9-5, then have class 530-930, 5 days a week. I've found that fitting in diet and exercise is not easy, but it's possible if it's important to you!
Im 27 I am on the edge of being an old bugger LOL I am at 178, high of 191.  I don't go to school, but I school my kids.  It is definitly a challenge to balance so many things at once, but you can so do it!  You may have to make some sacrifices but keep in mind what is most important.  For example:  My house is a mess.  I admit it.  But my kids are well educated and I am focused on my diet LOL
I'm 23, in grad school so I don't have an outside job anymore because of departmental funding for research.  But, I totallly feel the no time- I spend roughly 15 hours in class per week, 30-40 hours in the lab/ working on research, and then I have to do homework and studying and on top of all of this I am supposed to prepare healthy meals for myself and  make it to the gym!!!  I started this weighing 210, and I'm only 5'2" so thats really high, and am down to 190 now.  It took some getting used to, but after 2 months I finally feel like I am getting the hang of it.  I cook on weekends (and do laundry and catch up on studying)- I tend to make several types of soup, grill a few chicken breasts, and then all I need to do when I finally get home at night is steam some veggies and warm up the chicken or soup (you can buy steam in bag microwave veggies now- highly recommended!).  I tend to go to the gym at like 9 or so at night because I don't even want to think about getting up earlier than I already do and I don't have any time before then to spare.  Good luck, and feel free to contact me!
Hi! I'm 19, in college, and have a part-time job on the side. I started out weighing 212 (Nov 06), and I am currently around 177. I've been heavy for most of my life so I like to think of it as a game.  To see if I can be the best possible health for me. I have the advantage of being a thrower on the track team so I have some built in weight lifting, and excercise, but I also bike/elliptical 6-7 days a week for at least 20 minutes.  I never truly realized how much I was consuming on a typical day until I started keeping track, so now I focus on "feeling my hunger." I used to eat whenever something looked good.

Goal March 31: 170
Goal May 11: 160-165

After I meet those goals I'll continue to set more until I feel healthy!
im 20 currently at 175 with a goal of  145. im 5'7
Hiiii!

I'm 21, I work full time 8-5, and go to school on saturdays for 6 hours :P.

I am preeeettty busy to say the least.

I make time for exercise, I wake up an extra hour and a half early, every morning, to go to the gym. I hate going after work because thats my homework time, but I do it and work out for 35 minutes or so. It's hectic and it feels like there is no "free" time, but It will pay off!

good luck! I'm here if you need support :]
LOL i still think im 21.. I'm 22 :P
Hi!!
I am 23 and fresh out of college.  I've been working and studying for 5 years now and know exactly how you feel.  I was so stressed out that didn't even realize how much weight I gained.  I was so thin before college and even thinner before I came to US.
So again I know exactly how you feel. If you need support I am here daily and will help you in any way I can.
Good luck and never give up!!!
I'm 22 and currently 125.5 lbs. I'm not in school right now, but planning on going back in a year or two. I'm juggling a full-time job, a part-time job, a 4-year-old, and a husband along with the diet and exercise. I completely understand where you're coming from. I couldn't be more stressed out trying to have time to balance everything.

A lot of times, it comes down to deciding if I want to spend time with my family or exercise as I can't do both. My family wins 9 times out of 10. It's all about priorities. I keep up with my dieting and make time for the exercise when I can. Don't fall behind in your studies or lose your job. Make time for family and friends. You have the rest of your life to be healthy. It just may take more time than you'd like!

Good luck!
Here is a "challenge" for people under 25. We have a weekly weigh in and we post our exercise minutes and everyone is very supportive.

I'm Andry, and I'll be 17 in a little over two weeks. :-) My heighest weight was 218, and I hit that sometime before Christmas. In order to fit into a dress I bought for Winter Ball, I lost ten pounds through mild dieting and major exercise and went down to 208 sometime in January. I'm sitting at that weight now, and I hope to slim down to 140 pounds before Hallowween. :-) Welcome to Calorie Count and I wish you the best of luck.

Hi,

I'm 18 years old, 5 foot 8, and weigh about 164 pounds currently. At my highest I was near 179. The biggest obstacle for my weight loss has been the eating environment I have been in. It is so hard to eat healthy when everyone around you eats whatever they want. Plus, life is very stressful during your college and post-college years. The best advice I can give you is to focus on your mind and body at the same time. When I eat healthier, I notice that my mind is clearer and I get more accomplished.

Support is wonderful if you can find it with family and friends. However, a lot of the time they do not really understand how important weight loss is to you. So the fact that you can find support here is a great start. Good luck in accomplishing your weight loss goals!
Hii! I'm 17 (soon to be 18) and am 5.9 at `138 hoping to be at 125 for summer and I'm always up for meeting new people!!
I'm 22, and a full-time grad student who holds two part-time jobs.

I was 235 (6'1" tall) in June and now I'm down to 184. I found changing my diet to be easier than I anticipated. I just stopped buying junk food, started eating less, and started eating complex carbs instead of simple carbs. I stopped focusing on the crap my roommates were eating and started focusing on myself, and making sure I only eat food that is good for me. I didn't even try and keep track of calories until about 2 weeks ago.

I just started my jobs, and started exercising at the same time. I find that the jobs make it easier for me to find time to exercise. I either go to the gym before or after work. I go to sleep earlier and I wake up earlier. I feel like my days are more productive, whereas last semester when I wasn't exercising, I felt like I was wasting my time when I wasn't in class. Some days I feel like I should just go back to sleep, but I keep reminding myself that this will pay off in the long run.
Hello. I am 19 and I'm in school, working an internship, and volunteering extensively--all with a 2 hour commute from my in-the-middle-of-nowhere home!!! obviosly, grabbing easy to-go food for the road or behind my desk is one of my biggest pitfalls.
I am 23 and graduated from college last year. Senior year, I was working an internship full time, classes full time in the evening, and planning my wedding. It was a crazy time of year! It wasn't until after graduation and the wedding that I realized that I was 20 lbs. heavier than when I started college. So, I figured that I would lose weight once life calmed down.

Yeah right! Life never calms down! Now I am busy in my full time job working on staff for a magazine and married life keeps me busy as well. We all just need to make ourselves PRIORITY and get our lives, health, and weight under control. If we wait until we have more time, we're just going to be older, heavier, and unhappy!
My name is jenn and I started the game at arround 245lbs... I was and still am 5"0 and realized that i needed to get healthy. It too me three years to loose 110 pounds i still want to drop to down to 105 or 110 depending on how i feel in my skin. hehehe I am 20 years old work a full time job and am in the procces of trying ot buy my own house.

If you want to contact me my info is in my profile

CHEERS!!!!
Hey! I'm Jenn and I started at 264 and im 5'8. I am now down to 224 as of this morning. I work a job 30+ hours a week 30 mins away and am taking 15 hours of classes this semester. It is hard and I am very busy but I always find time to work out SOMEHOW. I usually work out about an hour to two hours a day but sometimes (like today) I have WAY too much to do so I just walk everywhere and try to run around the house doing random things.

Let me know if you have any questions!! You can message me.
