22 yr old female 5'7'', 156 lbs. looking for Cal Count buddy!!
I just read your post. Im 5'10", 188lbs. no where near your weight but interested in being your calorie count buddy. i just joined today! Im hoping to reach at least 170-172lbs by March 19th.
i find that the best way to stay updated on people's progress, questions, struggles is to read their journal entries and reply to them. that's what i do w/my current buddies, and it works out really well. it's like we have a little conversation going. they read my journal entries, and i read theirs.
so i'll add you as a buddy and keep up w/your journal entries! (under "community," then "journals," then "my friends' journals"). :)
I'm a 5'9 190 lb male, but I'll share anything that may be beneficial.
I'm on day 9 of the Fast Track Detox Diet; that's going great so far. It seems to do what it claims, in flushing toxins and hard-to-loose fat from your system.
I'm adding you as a friend- hopefully we can all keep each other motivated!!! Good luck :-)
For breakfast I had 1 1/4 cup of Raisin Bran and skim milk with 1/2 banana.
For lunch I had a salad with carrots, egg whites, tiny bit of cheese, tiny bit of bacos (like 30 cal per tablespoon) and 1 packet of fat free ranch (may fav) --- also 1/4 cup fruit grapes and mand. orange pieces-- and 1 piece of cake.. I wanted to have it, I don't know why. But the matter of the fact is that I have ate healthy so far today that I can afford a piece of cake.. right? My goal is to stay within 1500 calories. I am not saying all of my cals can be fatty/junk food cals, I want it to be balanced.. why do I feel guilty for eating the piece of cake.. hm.. I didnt' "Need" it.. I just wanted it.
As always, I am going to work out after work, 1 hr cardio. Then I will go home and have hopefully a healthy dinner and relax.
I hear you on the cake deal. I was never a sweets girl growing up, but once I graduated college and started working in the 'real world' I couldn't get enough. We would go out to lunch and I would order just a brownie with ice cream and the works.
I have been much better lately. I am counting WW points and find that works pretty well. I see that sweets take up a lot points. So I have said no for the last two weeks or so and feel so much better. I do still have a no-bake cookie the size of my head on the weekend. But that is my indulgence for the week.
Everything else sounds good though. For me:
Cheeriors and milk for breakfast, yogurt for morning snack, turkey pita and soup for lunch, cottage cheese and clementines for afternoon snack.
Does anyone else feel like they eat pretty healthy, but still don't feel like their body matches their life style?
I don't drink high test soda (or really soda at all), I don't eat sweets regularly, no high fat foods regularly, I drink tons of water, but I am still just a little on the 'large' side.
Hi!! My name is Ingrid and I'm from Spain, I'm 26, 5'7'' and 147 lbs. I have a small frame so my goal weight is 120 lbs or so. I'm so glad we all have more less the same stats and would be awesome if we can help each other to reach our goals :D
How many cals are everyone eating? I'm aiming for 1400 cals.
P.S. Sorry for my spelling, remember English is not my first language lol
This week is going okay so far. I am only on my 4th day of CC and I have lost almost 1lb. I know it isn't going to just melt off of me, but how nice would that be?
I aim towards 1500 calories, and so far I have been doing okay. My lowest cals would be 1200 and highest hopefully no more than 1700. I hope to stay dedicated to CC as much as I dedicate myself to working out. I work out every day, taking a day off probably once or twice in a 2 week span.
My fear is that I stick with my healthy cal level, continue to work out etc, and see no change in the weight. Does anyone have this happening? I find it interesting that there are so many average/healthy people on this website. I know there are ppl who are trying to weigh 80 lbs too but it is just nice to have all of you who are "normal". Thanks for all of your support :)
Hope everyone is having a great Friday!
Hello, I am 5'8 and 147 pounds. Please feel free to email me if you want to talk. I see a lot of people have already replied. I read that you have lots of temptations in your house. My suggestions would be to get rid of all the bad foods and replace them with healthy options. If that's not possible than at least have the healthy options available so your not tempted. My husband likes these chips and they are so addictive. So I try to keep humus, raw veggies etc on hand to eat. Other than that we really only keep healthy food in the house. He eats pretty healthy as well and that helps a lot. Sounds like your work outs are exactly where you want them to be. Your doing an excellent on that and you should be very proud of yourself. It's hard to keep up with that kind of routine. I work out 4-5 days a week and I would work out more if I could. I am addicted to it. Another thing is you want to be eating plenty of protein. You can try Muscle milk light and drink that before or after your work outs. It gives you 25 grams of protein. The protein will help you loose fat and gain muscle.
For whoever can answer this. Being a college student it is hard to eat healthy, I have to say that so far I am doing well. I don't eat the burgers and fries in the cafeteria. I usually aim for a wheat bread sandwhich or a salad. What suggestions do any of you have about what a college student should eat to lose weight. Also i have a pretty strong core but like others it is covered in flab. what exercises, cardio or weight training or any other form, can i do to lose the flab and show a little more abs and flatness? thanks!!!!!
If you are still eating in the dining hall, the right foods are there, but they are hidden behind the burgers, fries, grilled cheeses and ice cream. Looks for foods that are grilled or steamed, not fried. Stay away from sauces on stuff as well. Eat as many veggies as possible, they will fill you up faster. Wheat bread is good, look for whole grains or a multigrain is ever better. Just because it says wheat doesn't make is much better than white bread. Salads are awesome, just watch your dressing. Smothering lettuce in ranch dressing doesn't do much for you. Creamy dressings are very high is calories and fat. Keep things balanced with proteins as well, like fish or chicken. Lean meats are good. Limit your pizza and burgers maybe to one day a week or so. It is all about choices. Also, try and stay away from the mini microwave meals you cook in your room. That filled with calories and high sodium and that is no good.
Try cold cereal for breakfast, piece of fruit for mid morning snack, salad with chicken for lunch or turkey wrap filled with veggies and for dinner grilled chicken or fish, steamed veggie and rice.
To lose the flab, you have to get up and get moving. Cardio gets your heart rate up. Running, swimming, walking, elliptical machines, stairmasters...anything that really gets your sweating. Be careful not to over do it. Weight training will add a nice lean muscles base and help you burn more calories during the day.
Good luck. I remember how hard it was to eat good living on campus. It got harder when I got my own apartment. So learning how to eat right on your own is key.
It's Amber, from high school (remember the morning show?). Yeah, crazy coincidence, right? I'm 5'7" too and was at your weight when I started (146 now). I live in CA now, but I was like, "No way..." when I saw your post with your name and picture. Small world...
Anyways, just saying hi. You were soooo skinny in high school! You still look just fine! It was so easy being skinny back then, and now it's all about controlling the weight gain. Ugh. See ya. =)
