32 yr old Newbie looking for friends! Hi! :)
Hello Everyone! I'm Emily. Just started this thing a week ago. Trying to get some friends on here for support, motivation, and encouragement.
I have 40 pounds to lose. I started this thing a week ago and have already dropped 4! Probably mostly water weight.
Anyhowz...I have done the gain/lose thing several times in my life...so I know that I can do this! I am very optimistic & super excited about starting CC! This is just what I needed to jump start my goals to a helathier lifestyle! I loathe calorie counting, but it is necessary for me to keep a log otherwise I will rack up pounds. Glad to find something that is so easy!
Hi - I'm 32 from MD. I have about 40 pounds to lose too. I'm not sure when it happened, but 1 day I woke up fat! Last year at this time I was 5'8" 142#, but I weighed on Xmas day and I was 175?!? So, now I'm back to the gym for 2 hours a night, 5 nights a week and counting my calories.
I'm happy to say I've lost 7 pounds so far in these short 2 weeks~ :)
I have a workout buddy, but she's only been with me 2 times, and really isn't as dedicted as me...she stands around waiting on me to finish after about an hour! So, I've been going at it alone for the most part. Oh and BTW... my hubby is 6 foot and 170 pounds with almost NO body fat!! I might divorce him tee hee hee
Hi emberjem I am doing the measuring route ths time as on previous attempts at weight loss i have found myself getting too frustrated with weighing myself. Dont know yet if its going to work out any better for me as its only been a week.
I remember only too well the sleepless nights and dirty diapers with a fond but distant memory lol. in fact i think the more distant the fonder they have become lol.

Well its saturday here in Australia and I am home alone with my little monkey (she's 2) had a nice healthy breakfast, but now needing to get out of the house to avoid too much temptation! Going to head down to the beach with her, she loves the water.
Did my morning run yesterday (25 minutes with no stopping and it was a great run!) I also danced around to kids music with my two year old for a good 15-20 minutes last night and WASN'T winded! It was so nice to be able to play with her and not feel like I needed to sit down.
Sam, I know how you feel, I am 5'4" and it takes at least 10-15 lbs before I notice a difference, and even then it is only a slight difference (just starting to notice in the mirror! and have dropped about 10 lbs)
Emily G, I know what you mean about making food for the kids and being tempted, I was always eating off my daughters plate before I started CC and actively trying to lose weight, it takes A LOT of willpower.

Hi everyone, Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I have been having problems with my gallbladder and need to have it taken out on the 17th. I am worried becouse they say I cannot exercise for 10 days afterwords. I don't think I will meet my goal to be 165 by March 22nd.I guess you can't plan things like this. I will try my hardest though and see how far I can get.
I also know what it is like to be home all day and be tempted by the food. Everytime I make something for my kids I have to tell myself "you don't need that", or "Are you really that hungry"? Somedays are really bad and I feel like I could just eat and eat and eat. Although them days are becoming farther in between.

Hi Tammy sorry to hear about your health problems but your right you cant plan for things like this, just concentrate on getting well again, thats what is important.

Congrats to you Sam! That's awesome! I have to do the small meal thing or else I binge and/or get tired throughout the day. Everyone's different...glad you found something that is working for you.
My monthly friend came to visit me and I am up 3 pounds!!! UGH! So discouraging! I know it's water weight...I've been staying within my calorie guidelines and working out almost everyday. I just really want to 'hurt' my scale! LOL!
Ohhhh...and I have been to 3 stores...3! looking for a damn fabric measuring tape. Coincidentally all 3 were sold out!!! Trying another one tomorrow on my lunch break. Unfortunately there aren't any craft/sewing stores near my work. The hunt continues...

Thanks elvirus and good luck with the hunt for measuring tape, must be alot of people on diets where you are if they have all sold out LOL, I would offer to send you one but by the time it got to you from the UK i'm sure you would have found one already.
I think the only thing I might change about by eating is maybe have more at breakfast and less at lunch, as I seem to start getting hungry again around 10 am, Its not full on stomach growling hungry but i'm only eating maybe 170 - 200 cals at breakfast.
Emily, don't know if this will help at all. If you cannot find a tape messure you might want to look where they sell kids tools. I have one that my son got in a tool set that works great. Just an idea. I will probably be off for a while. I have my surgery tomorrow.

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and aren't experiencing a case of the Mondays! ;)
We actually had snow in Hotlanta this past weekend! Only a couple inches that was mostly melted by this morning...but it was beautiful while it lasted! I spend my weekend in North Georgia playing in the snow. Got some exercise in, was great on the diet...but did consume a number of drinks...BAD, BAD! Will have to work out a little harder this week.
Despite my number of bad beverages, I still managed to drop 2 more pounds!

Wish we could have some snow but all we get is rain all day. Been so long since we had any decent snow the kids dont believe me when I tell them about it LOL Any snow we get now soon gets washed away by the rain again.
