hey im also 17 and a senior! i'd love to join you. i want to lose like 10-15 pounds and support/sharing ideas is always so helpful!
Well, I'm only 15...but I'll be 16 this month. I'm a junior.
I definitely don't want to lose any more weight, but I recently lost 45 pounds. So I'm here for maintaining weight.
Currently 5'3 and 107 pounds and I would just like to shed fat and gain muscle.
I also recently just lost about 25 pounds so I'd like to maintain my current weight.
ha well looks like we got a good circle going.. im 5'10" and 155 ( i play a lot of sports so i do have a lot of muscle" so im trying to maybe lose 5 lbs or so and some body fat
hey can i join?
i'm 16, 5'3'' and about 106 pounds, i'd like to get down to 100 pounds just because i feel comfortable there, but i'm taking it slow :)
hey, everyone! I go by Seffa. I'm 17 and a high school senior.
I think I'm on the heavier side in this group. I'm 148, looking to lose around 13 pounds, although I'd be happiest trimming of an inch of body fat on my hips and thighs and getting more muscle tone.
Has anyone else enduring senior year found the whole college application process stressful? I've definitely been letting the stress affect my eating habits.
svkas! me too, i want to be there by halloween cause i have the most amazing costume :)
hey count me in! =) 16 going on 17 feeling like this place echos around me...lets get some familiar faces, man!!
hi. can i join? im turning 16 in bout a month.
currently im involved with crosscountry, but im injured.. so im having a hard time, losing weight.
hopefully this will help. =]
clean eating. simple as when you start dropping processed foods you'll lose the last few pounds easier, not saying it gets easy just easier
I'm Sara and I'm 17. I'm still considered a senior in high school but I attend college as a freshman through the post secondary program. From my startweight [148], i wanted to lose 20 pounds. I'm now 145 [that's 3 pounds in 2 weeks!!]. I think it's great that so many younger people are on here counting their calories and trying to eat right and what not. If we don't learn how to eat and exercise right when our metabolism is high, then all our bad habits would eventually catch up to us. Yay for young calorie counters!!
Hi, I'm 18, 5'2" and a freshman in college. I'm currently about 112 lbs (just recently down from 117) and my first goal is to hit 108. From there my next goal will be 105 and then my ultimate goal is 102. I was 105 lbs for a little bit last year after losing 15 lbs and then my weight crept up again over the year... so most of all I'd like to get back down there, because I felt really comfortable and confident at that weight! But I've got to take baby steps. :)
So far I'm on a 50-day challenge for myself to stick to my calorie limit (+ or - 200 calories-ish). Right now I have 37 days to go and I haven't broken yet!
If I can make it the whole way I'm going to buy a pair of new jeans for myself. I can't wait!
What is everyone else doing to motivate themselves?
Hi, i just turned 18 this year and i want to be counted in lol. In 2006 i stopped eating properly due to school stress and lost 10kg (22lbs) but because i was already at a good weight so i got so sick. I don't like saying i was anorexic because i don't think i was thin enough but deep down i guess i was. Anyway, i started going to a psychologist but i didn't really like what she was telling me so i left. In the end i started eating again (oddly enough, it was because i got a boyfriend) but mentally, i still have a lot of worries. This year (January) i moved away from home (to the other side of australia) and have not seen my parents since. I am going home on 30th November and i know they still worry about what i eat etc but i want to show them that i am healthy and happy. I have only gained 2kg, sorry i mean 4.4lbs so i just want to lose that. Deep down i think a lot of teenagers believe they are over weight, when really they are not, they just don't have a lot of muscle (i think this was my initial probem) so i woud really like to be part of this group
where we can create a good self image and mental image rather than trying to find fast ways to lose weight and get really thin (which is what most teenagers want these days)
Hey everyone,
I'm seventeen, and a senior. I'm definitely interested in being in this group. I'm not looking to lose weight, but be more healthy. I do have a lot of input for the group, though. Just in case you guys want to shake up your workout routines every so often, or just hear stuff from a different standpoint.
So if it you don't mind, svkas, I'd love to join. I'd understand if I don't qualify, though :-)
What is the best way to shed those last few pounds? During the time I was losing weight, which wasn't much to brag about (20 Ibs over what... a year and a half? No bragging rights here), I found that a mixture of the two is best.
Up your activity level, even if it's just a bit. I started with jogging, but walking's just as good, and it won't screw up your knees. Building muscle via weight lifting was quick to shed a lot of it too, since it ups your metabolism. I've never payed much attention to the scale.
At the same time, making little changes at first is the way to go. I never could follow a nutrition plan if I went cold turkey on the things I loved (Haggen daaz, anyone?).
Little steps go a long way. If you take the best of both worlds, I think it's a lot more effective.
[Edit: For motivations]
Motivations: Martial art flicks do it every time.
Wow, I can relate to so many people in this group!
I'm 17, going on 18 in 16 days (whooo!) and I'm looking to lose a couple of kilos and tone up. I would love to make a few friends here that are my age.
At the moment I am on a one month challenge (it takes 30 days to break a habit!) to stick to the plan and not eat any chips or biscuits. I actually started on the 1st September and was doing perfectly till the weekend when I was just ridiculously hungry and gorged myself.. so I started again yesterday :P Day 2!
I am also upping my exercise and starting weight training, particularly on my arms and abs. I want to look amazing for my 18th birthday party, which is in a months time.
I'd love to join the circle of friends :D
I was down to 95, but when school started, I gained about 10 pounds between eating and gaining muscle from being on the cross country team. I'd like to get down to about 100 again, becuase I was quite comfortable with my appearance when I was there. I'd also like to tone my stomach and get rid of the flab!
BUT I will say, if anyone is undereating or has unhealthy habits I'd prefer not talking about it because I have pretty much gotten away from that (finally!!!) and find that talking with others with those habits is quite triggering. I usually avoid joining groups in YCC for the reason that it seems a lot of teens are being very unrealistic or trying to keep their childhood weights/bodies. I'd love some realistic and sensible friends though!
Anyways =P I'm 17, I'll be 18 in about 1.5 months, and I am a first year college student (early grad...WHOOP!) I've lost 50 lbs and am just working to keep it off and getting a little more fat off (not necessarily weight!). I'm also working on making my relationship with food better as I made it pretty terrible over the past couple years =(
Is my sodium intake too low?
You have nothing to worry about because sodium deficiency is extremely rare. In fact, there is not even an recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA... Read more
